Vincent chuckled, raising his head to look at her. "Seriously? Wow, how ridiculous..." He nodded at her next sentence, frowning slightly. "I've never been told why they fight. I've only been told to hate them with every fiber of my being.." He sighed, shrugging because of how clueless he was on the subject. He always wanted to ask, but he saw Arianie ask and even Daniel. It wasn't very pretty...in fact, Vince thought that wasn't allowed. At all.
"No, no, I can't let you do that. I've been raised to be gentlemanly to girls, Marlette."

Marlette counted the bills in her wallet.
"And I suppose that I've been raised against tradition." She smiled at him. " I must insist. This money is absolutely burning a hole in my pocket." She stood up and brushed herself off.
"I'll call us a cab."

Vincent chuckled, shaking his head before getting a bit more serious. "My father would be angered, but if you insist to be a rebel to how I was raised, go ahead." He had a small trace of a smile, but it was obvious he was holding it back. He knew that completely accepting Marlette right away would anger his father, even if he was supposed to get along with her. He only said get along, not like. As far as he knew, she had the potential to maybe be a friend, but he wasn't quite impressed. He had years of hatred and bad teachings on his shoulders as well as death threats. Not a very comforting thing.
