He rushed to Cara, feeling her pulse. "Oh, c'mon, honey." He whispered, listening for breath.

The king had ran off. Cam was holding onto Lucy, crying.

Cara stayed unconscious.

"Mo-o-mmyyyyyyyyy," Lucy whimpered, crying.

Jasper sighed, giving her mouth to mouth to help her breath. "C'mon, Cara." He said.

Cara's eyes fluttered open, and she gulped in air. "Oh my goodness," she whispered. "Are the kids okay? Are you alright?" Her entire neck ached badly.

He sighed in relief. "Yes, sweetie. We're all fine, okay? Are you okay? C'mere." He said, pulling her into his arms.

Cara sat in his lap and hugged him tightly. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to."

Jasper shook his head. He had been crying. "It's not your fault, Cara." He told her between the sobs. He didn't even put in the effort to hide them for the kids. Everything just hit him like a ton of bricks today.

Cara squeezed her eyes shut, then opened them again to look at him. "Shh," she whispered, gently stroking his cheek. "Why are you crying?" Tears almost came to her, but she held them back.

Lucy still cried.

He sighed. "Just... Everything that's happening... I lost my uncle, I almost lost you. I almost died. We're not safe." Jasper said, wiping his eyes.

Cara took a shaky breath. "It's okay, Jasper. I know." She hugged him again tightly.
