Jasper looked at Cara. "My father's here." He told her.

The king looked at them, and all his grief and sadness turned to anger.

Her breath caught in her throat, and she locked eyes with Jasper. Cara shook her head, barely able to notice, in an attempt to tell him not to start anything.

Jasper nodded at her.

He growled angrily. "You killed my brother. You killed Mack." He said to them. "What would you do..." he gave Cara a glare. "...If I killed someone you love?" He asked, and grabbed Jasper by the throat, his thumbs crushing his airway.

Cara screamed and set the kids down gently, attracting the attention of everyone there. She leapt forward and pried the king away from Jasper, holding him back.

Jasper had begun to go limp until the king was pulled away. He gasped and coughed from where he fell on the floor. He looked for the kids, making sure that were okay.

The king looked at Cara. "I could do the same to you, if you wish." He told her.

"As if you could," she spat, glaring at him.

Lucy's eyes went wide as she watched her parents, beginning to tremble.

He looked at Lucy. "Don't worry, baby. We'll be alright." He told her.

He glared at her, and pressed his thumbs to her throat, but harder than he did to Jasper, making sire she couldn't get the slightest breath. "As if I could." He mocked.

Cara's face turned red with lack of oxygen, and she tried to kick him.

Lucy whimpered. "Mommy!"

Jasper jumped up, trying to get him away from Cara. "Leave her alone!" He yelled.

The king shook Jasper off, pressing harder. But Jasper kept going at him, and he finally, after making sure Cara was almost gone, he let go.

Cara had passed out, and her pulse was very, very faint. There were bruises on her neck where the king's hands had been.

Lucy started crying, huddling beside Cam and Lizzie.

Lizzie started crying as well, though she wasn't sure what was happening.
