Alli stayed close to him, her face still buried in his chest. She tried hard to keep him from noticing her tears.

Cam rubbed her back. "Baby. Are you crying too?"

Alli sniffled. She couldn't just lie to him, so she nodded slightly.

He sighed. "Let it out, baby."

Alli kept her face in his chest and just cried quietly.

"Are you crying because I was?" he asked softly.

Alli sniffled. "Yes and no," she said quietly.

"Elaborate?" he asked. "I'm here, you can talk."

Alli sighed. "I'm crying for various reasons. I'm crying because you were, and that tears me apart. I'm crying because everything hurts. I'm crying because I could have lost you and the kids. Mostly I'm crying because you love me and you'd be willing to give up half your kingdom for me."
