Charlie kissed her head. "I love you," he said, rubbing her arm. "We're gonna have to go back eventually."

Molly winced. "I know. It's just...I don't want to face my parents. I can't tell them, but it's not like I can hide it, either. They've had enough disappointments in their lives."

Mack nodded. "I know," he said. After a moment he spoke agan. "Do you wanna come to my place?"

Molly bit her lip and nodded. "Yes, but...not yet. I want to have time alone for a while."

Charlie nodded. "Do you want me to come back later?" he asked.
