When he pulled away, Lizzie buried her face in his shoulder and hugged him again. "I just can't believe you're back."

"I'm back," he confirmed. "I'll never go anywhere again."

"Never," Lizzie echoed. After a long moment, she pulled back and held him at arm's length. "How are you, then?"

He shrugged. "Okay. I thought I did something wrong and that's why you weren't coming to see me anymore."

Lizzie's eyes grew soft as they searched his face. "Never, baby. I wish I could've been at your side through everything. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this alone."

Rory shook her head. "No, it couldn't measure up to thinking you were dead."

Lizzie swallowed hard and nodded. "It was hell, that's for sure. But this isn't about me."

"I'm guessing they didn't tell anyone I was alive?" he asked. He disagreed that this wasn't about her, but he know she would deny talking about her.
