"The doctors," Lizzie said through her tears. "Rory, you've been dead for months." She hugged him tightly with her super-thin arms, burying her face in his neck as she cried. "I thought I lost you. I thought...I thought I'd never see you again."

"Hey, no... I'm here," he said, rubbing her back. "You're so thin..." he said, kissing her head.

Lizzie whimpered and hugged him tightly, ignoring his comment about her being thin. No need to tell him that she hadn't been eating. "I don't even care how this is possible. I just can't believe you're here."

"Yeah, I'm here," he crooned to her, rocking her. "I'm never leaving you again," he said.

Lizzie hugged him tighter. She inhaled his familiar scent. "Oh God Rory, I'm a wreck without you. Don't ever leave me again." She looked up at him and kissed his face again: his cheeks, forehead, eyelids; everywhere. She'd missed him more than words could describe.

Rory let her kiss him. "I won't leave you, I promise."

Lizzie stopped kissing his face and looked up at him, tears still glistening on her cheeks. "Where have you been all this time?"

"In the hospital. I just got released today," he said. The surgery only cleared a little bit, but the rest of the reatments finished it."

Lizzie's eyes widened. "You mean you've been alive all this time, getting treatments?"

Rory nodded. "Yeah," he told her, hugging her again.
