Lizzie bit her lip, then sniffled and nodded slightly. "Okay," she said quietly.

Cam nodded and wiped her tears. "Thank you."

Cam set a plate in front of Lizzie, then sat down with her. He waited for her to eat. If she didn't eat, neither did he.

Lizzie still didn't eat much, nor did she have much of an appetite, but she ate for Cam's sake. She picked up her fork and poked the food lightly before taking a small bite.

Cam started eating as well. "So..." he said.

Lizzie glanced up at him. "How're Alli and the kids?" she asked, not wanting to talk about herself. She hadn't actually gotten much better, but she made an effort for him.

"They're alright. Alli's always busy because she's taken over a lot for me. But I talk to Eli every night," he said. "The boys are still to young."
