Cara nodded. "I think I'm okay now. I'm just worried for them is all." She leaned over and rested her head on his shoulder.

Cara lifted her head as they pulled into the driveway. She paused, then climbed from the car. "Alright...this is it, I guess." With that, she walked into the house with Jasper. Once in, she peered around. "Kids?" she called.

Jasper sighed. "Yeah," he said and followed her in.

Mack came out of his room with Emma. "Yeah?"

Hannah followed Mack down curiously.

Molly wandered down the stairs soon after. "Yeah, Mom?"

Cara sighed and gestured towards the couch. "Have a seat."

The girls sat down. "What is it, Mom?" Molly asked, her face etched in concern.

Cara glanced at Jasper, then looked towards the kids again. "I'm not going to sugarcoat this, because I don't know how. Rory has cancer."

Molly's jaw dropped. "Oh my God!"

Hannah gasped. "Oh, that poor thing," she murmured quietly.
