Jasper kissed Cara's head.

Austin sighed. "Same."

Lizzie opened her eyes. She paused for a moment before lifting his chin gently with two fingers so he could look up at her. Her eyes searched his face. "Hey," she said softly, "everything will be alright. We'll get through this together, just like we always have. Okay?" Even if she didn't fully believe it herself, she couldn't just let Rory live in doubt.

Cara sighed and leaned into him.

Jack wrapped his free arm around Austin and hugged him gently.

Rory nodded. "Okay. I'm just..." he sighed. He didn't want to say scared.

Jasper hugged her. "It's okay."

Austin kissed his cheek.

He didn't have to finish. Lizzie nodded. "I know, baby. I know." She pressed a kiss to his cheek. "But everything will be just fine. I promise."

Cara sighed and shook her head. "But it's not, Jasper." She wrapped her arms around him.

Jack smiled a little bit. "Thanks, Austin." He kissed his cheek in response.

Jasper rubbed her back. "Just let it out."

"No problem," he said.

Lizzie wrapped her arms around him in a hug and sighed, burying her face in his neck. "I wish I could help."

Cara shook her head slightly. "I don't know how."

Jack pulled back to look at him. "Come on, let's go home."

"It's fine, Liz. Just... you being here is enough."

Jasper rubbed her arm. "Let's go home."

Austin nodded.

Lizzie lifted her head to look at him and smiled slightly. "I love you, Rory."

Cara nodded. "Let's go." She started walking, unsure what to say or do.

Jack took his hand and walked out to the car with him.

Jasper led her to the car.

Lizzie kissed him softly, then pulled back. "I'm gonna go find the doctor to find out more details. I'll be back in a few minutes."

Cara followed him. Once she was in the car, she leaned back against her seat and sighed. "So what do we do now? Do we tell the kids as soon as we get home, or let it settle a little bit before we tell them?"
