Lizzie smiled softly and watched him. She really was in love with him.

Rory smiled, looking down at the table in thought for a moment. "Marry me?" he asked suddenly.

Lizzie blinked in surprise and stared at him. "What?" she asked, unsure if she'd heard him correctly.

"Marry me? I'll save up to get you a proper ring and everything, but I just need to know you will," he said.

Lizzie's heart raced in her chest and she bit her lip, smiling. She leaned forward over the table. "Rory, is that even a question?" She took his hand and squeezed it gently. For some reason, she was strangely calm. "Of course I'll marry you."

He smiled, and laced their fingers. "Good," he said. "I'll get you a ring soon," he promised. "I love you."

Lizzie smiled softly. "I don't care about a ring," she murmured, leaning closer. "I love you too."

He smiled, and kissed her lips quickly, then looking into her eyes.

Lizzie smiled and kissed him back, then pulled away and looked at him. "So does this mean we're engaged?" she murmured, happiness glinting in her eyes.

Rory nodded. "It most surely does," he said.
