Hannah nodded a bit, then sighed and looked at him. "How did your mum and dad take it?"

"Mom was mad at first, but then she was just upset. 'Cause I'm the youngest and all," he said. "I don't know about Dad."

Hannah nodded and sighed. "I'm so sorry, Mack." Sometimes she wished she'd never been born.

"It's okay," he said. "I'm sorry about how everyone you told reacted. You deserve better than that," she said.

Hannah shook her head sadly. "I guess I'd rather know they hated it than have them hide it."

He nodded. "True," he said.

"I guess," Hannah sighed. "But now that I don't have a job or home, what am I going to do? I mean, I can't just live here. I'd feel awful to just push my way in."

"You aren't pushing your way in, Hannah. I'm pulling you in," he said.
