мale | 19 yearѕ | ѕopнιe | crυѕнleѕѕ who's that special girl in your life that makes you want to do greater things?
"it's funny you asked, cuz i actually have that. her name is sophie. she's everything a guy like me could ask for. she's intellegent, yet all the same a real goof-ball. her ability to master things even puts me to shame, and you know how hard that is. the way she just pushes troubled times away or pain just mesmerizes me even more, her view on life. she's not a complainer, not the least bit, and when she knows she needs to do something, she does it. her love is inconsistant. she'll follow me around every where, and, shockingly, she's a major baseball fan. we can watch tv together for hours, her head resting in my lap, though she'll only watch it it's yankees or angels. she loves cars too; her real love being trucks. i can't keep her out of them. everytime she sees one she just has to run up to it and jump into the front seat. i can't get her away. when the guys come over, no one cares if she sticks around to chill with us. she's totally cool, and the guys adore her anyway. she isnt one to pester me about where i've been when i go out late. she's always just happy to see me when i get home, no matter how long it took. if she were human, she'd be the perfect girlfriend."
"pop a squat by me, soph. lemme see what you got there." i knelt down onto my knees, calling over the mixed breed dog. sophie's ears pulled forward, both at the same time it was as if they were mirroring one another. sophie's large round eyes appeared to be melting in my palms, so full of expression and wonder. the whiter tint outlining her face made her seem all the more adorable, face illuminating with mischeviousness as she, instead of coming towards me as asked, shook her head playfully and bounded backwards a few steps.
by now i was on my hands and knees, her resting in a downward dog position, tail wagging feverishly at a higher elevation than the both of us. her large round eyes watched me attentivly, waiting. they held my own chocolate brown gaze and for a split second, i was convinced she was reading my thoughts. "come on sophie..." i said, slowly slinking forward towards her. she stayed still though, waiting for the perfect moment to turn and flee. the closer i got to the young female, the better i was able to see what she had in her mouth that she so desperatly wanted to keep away from me. my cell phone. "sophie... give me back my phone." she did exactly what i didnt want her to do. she did set down the phone on the sandy ground, but instead of giving it to me, she lifted both her frontal paws and rested them ontop of the device, resting her snout on the anklets of her paws. i let out a groan of frusteration. i could have sworn the golden retriever, siberian husky mix was smiling, laughing as her round eyes danced about. she found this amusing, while i, found it down right intolerable. i crawled forward a bit more, sophie now in reach length, and i outstretched my hand, slowly and cautiously. "good girl, soph. stay..." just as my finger tips brushed the cellular device, sophie leapt to her paws, snatching my phone within her teeth once again, and danced away from me. her tail was moving quicker than the middle aged ladies did when walmart was having a sale on clothing, while i had just rolled onto my belly in the sand, arms outstretched, and forehead resting on my bisep, a sure sign of defeat. i knew there was some catch involved when i felt a cold nose nudge my arm, ultimatly sniffing through my choppy brown locks and a tongue rasping my ear. i shyed away, letting my sloppery ear be shielded by my arm, but young sophie just moved onto licking the other ear.
i lifted my head from its shelter, seeing my cell phone placed neatly infront of me. i couldnt help but submit to a chuckling grin, looking at the mutt sitting with an innocent look on her face. as i narrowed my eyes at her, she just let her tongue roll from the side of her mouth, head cocked southward. i lifted my arm and wrapped it around the female's neck, pulling her in to give her a good, playful rub, but the canine tugged away, giving a good growl at me as if it were meant as a scold, and sat a distance away, giving behind her ear a good scratch.
i smiled, pushing myself to my feet and grabbed my phone before anymore damage could come to it. i dusted off my swim trunks and grey tank, calling sophie over. "wanna go swimming?" i asked, expecting an excited reaction from the part water-fowl dog, and a reaction was what i got. she leapt to her nimble paws, giving her dusted grey and cloud white fur a good shake, and racing down the sandy beach into the cool, clear waters. i didnt follow her though. instead i walked onto the dock which outstretched into the lake, and sophie swam alongside me. however when i sat down at the end of the dock, and the mutt realized she wasnt to swim out farther, she began to claw the heck out of the pole of the wooden dock, round eyes pleading to be helped up. i chuckled, grabbing her scruff and hauling her up beside me. and of course after i went out of my way to help her, she didnt bother to give me the slightest bit of distance or warning before shaking out her silky fur. i shielded my face, bu there was nothing i could do for the whole rest of my body. afterwards, she plopped herself down beside me, snout resting on her paws, and within moments i heard soft snores coming from her. it wasn't even noon yet and the poor dog was already tuckered out.
i didnt know where everyone was, but i had half a mind that they were getting ready for the bonfire. i was as ready as ever; i was just waiting for the bonfire and everyone else to be ready.
{{ aww... thanks guys! yours are just as beautiful, believe me. }}
