Katniss woke up only to come back to her crude life. Her head pounded uncontrollably. She could only remember bits and pieces of the night before and quite frankly she didn't want to remember any of it. She shifted in her bed trying desperately to fall back asleep. Her eyes began to close slowly when she remember something very important. Peeta, where is Peeta. Katniss sat up terrified. That's when she remembered everything, President Snow had him. Katniss ran her fingers through her dark wavy hair. She held back the tears she wanted to cry so badly. She couldn't break down now, she needed to think. Carefully the girl wrapped her arms around herself for comfort, a plan had to be made. I have to get Peeta, she thought, because she knew he would do the same for her.
Katniss climbed out of bed stumbling over herself as she changed into her day clothes. Before she left her room she found herself going to the bathroom to splash water on her face. She stopped for a moment and looked at herself in the mirror. I'll save you Peeta, she thought. She believed it too. President Snow had taken so many people, one of them being Prim. Katniss couldn't believe how he could kill an innocent child like Prim, sweet Prim. The thought made her tear up, she needed her....Now he planed on taking Peeta and that was not an option. Katniss sulked out of her room and into the cafeteria. After getting her small proportion of food she sat at her usual table. She nibbled on the bread and took small sips of water but nothing could keep her mind off of what she had to do next. Katniss over heard the usual chatter and the occasional stares she got from the other people. At this point she couldn't care less. Let them stare, they don't know what it's like. Katniss lowered in her seat, as if to hide herself from the others, to block herself out.
Katniss knew what she had to do, that was escape district 13 and get to where ever they were holding Peeta. There was no time to waste. The brown haired girl hurried to her room and gathered the things she knew she would need. She threw everything in a bag and tossed it by the door. Katniss couldn't help herself. The memories the items held in this room were taunting her. Soon enough she was walking around her room letting her hand glide over the bookshelf, she looked over all of Prim's things. On Prim's bed laid a light Blue dress that belonged to her. Katniss sighed and pulled herself away from those things. Before she left she tied her hair in a braid that laid over her shoulder. With that she slung the bag over her shoulder and slipped out of her room.
