As he walked towards the building, Kyle constantly had to put up with his mothers flapping and constant questions, checking if he was alright over and over. It was making him increasingly more aggitated. The fact she felt the need to be like this, to be so paranoid about his safety, was irritating. He exhaled sharply as he hesitated at the doors, cutting off his mother who was still running on her tirade. "I can go the rest of the way by myself," he said. His tone was a little too blunt than he needed but his mother was starting to get on his nerves.
She just seemed to stare at him then suddenly all those glittering tears were falling down her face. Kyle groaned before he laughed and pulled his mother into a hug. He had such weak parents; a mute father and blubbering wreck of a mother. "You really need to stop crying," he muttered as he hug her. Her returning hug was incredibly tight but he said nothing. He was at least a few inches taller than his mother so he could practically rest his head atop of hers.
Chuckling slightly, he said, "You can let go now." He could feel his jacket getting stained and he rolled his eyes once more till his mother finally removed herself.
"Now," she sniffled, her arms now on his shoulders, "you look after yourself, alright?"
Kyle smirked a little. "You make it sound like I won't see you again." He shook his head a little before replying, "I'll be fine. Now get back into the car before I throw you in!" His tone was joking and he was thankful to provoke a laugh from his mother.
She hugged him a final time before finally heading towards the car. Kyle sighed quietly and watched as she hesitated before igniting the ignition and finally pulling out of the parking lot. With a strained sigh followed by a dry chuckle, Kyle headed towards the Headmasters Building once more. As he neared the automatic doors, he noticed Catriona and he prayed to God that she hadn't just seen all that.
Trying to feign off any embarressment for that, Kyle spoke before anything could be said. "Hey," Kyle said, "thanks for waiting for me. My mother certainly likes to waste time." His voice sounded a little spiteful near the end but there was still a slight smile on his face nonetheless.
