<You like cinnabons, not me,> Tobias reminded him. <I'm not really hungry either. Hey, do you know where everyone else is?>

<I was told they were coming at eleven AM in your Earth hours, and by my couculation, it is twelve AM in Earth hours.> Ax informed Tobias, like he didn't already know.

<So they didn't come then> Tobias asked.

<Surely Casey would remember.> Ax said, and ducked as a zooming bird came down, trying to grab his stalk eyes. <I don't like your Earth birds. They keep attacking my eyes. All four of them!> Ax whimpered, and started morphing.

Tobias watched, still ruffled. Even watching Ax get attacked by birds couldn't comfort him.
<But they aren't here,> he pointed out. <What if they just didn't come?>

Ax couldn't answer, morphing into a bird from his home planet. A kafit, as they called it. Arishths like himself weren't normally aloud to morph them, but he was Elfangor's little brother.

Tobias shifted. <Did you ever consider leaving them? We've always been the different ones, maybe they wouldn't even miss us.>

<Many a time my friend, many a time.> Ax nodded as much as he could with his pointed bird-like head. He had a purple-y mo-hawk and a giant, ridged green, slender beak. It was mabey one or two feet long. His two feather-y things attached to little stringy things came out of his tail feathers.
