Cir's head whipped to the side. She was much smaller than the huge male. She growled at him though, teeth bared. "Whatever he did," she snarled, "I can repay you."

"Oh?" the dog said, scowling. "And who are you? His girlfriend?"

"Just a good friend," Cir spat at him, still baring her teeth. "How much does he owe?"

[tiny]

"More than you can afford, I'm sure, if you live there," he laughed, but was interrupted as Levy hit him in the opposite side and knocked him back to the ground.

Cir quickly took a few steps back, not wanting to be in the way. Her face relaxed a little and she stopped growling.

Levy held him on the ground this time, his sleek body thin but muscular. "I'm not paying you," he snarled. "I don't have the money, and neither does she. Plus, I don't even know who you are!"

Cir rubbed the side of her face where the dog hit her.

Levy breathed out once before the Mastiff began struggling under his weight. Counting under his breath, he let off of his ribcage, grabbed Cir by the scruff of the neck, dragging her as he sprinted away from the dog.

The bar owner yelled after him as he ran, but he didn't go after him this time. He was sure that between the two of them he had a broken rib or two, which the medical bill for that would also go on the Dane's tab.

Cir tried to get out of Levy's grip, twisting and protesting. She kicked her paws at his and growled at her scruff being held.

Levy kicked her with one of his back paws as he ran to keep her from struggling. "Hold on," he said through a blocked mouth. He continued to run, turning a corner sharply into another back alley. The only thing back there, as he could tell, was a dumpster swarming with flies. He dropped Cir, panting.
