Jay pulled away when Mariah passed out, knowing he hadn't killed her. He looked over his shoulder and sighed, dropping Mariah's wrists and carrying her bridal style over to Lila. He had brought Mariah out of Valentine's control for the time being. By making her pass out the curse connections would be broken and Mariah would be out of it... for now.
