Trotting down the alley, Kelsie sighed. She had managed to walk into a puddle. She shuddered, and shook herself down, wincing with distaste as the foul, polluted rainwater-and-sewage mix rolled off of her. She shuddered again, then walked on, this time paying a little more attention to where she was going. Around her, the alley loomed tall and forboding, but she knew better. The 'scary' look was only to keep out unwanted pampered cats.
Looking back to make sure that she hadn't been followed, Kelsie looked over the alley entrance. The busy street outside was grimy and packed as usual. There was the usual overflowing rubbish bin next to the entrance, spilling rotting food and other junk over the entrance. It was a pain to get past, and smelt foul, but it succeeded well in keeping out pampered cats and humans...and it attracted plenty of good rats, which was an upside. You got the occasional squirrel...and fox there as well.
As Kelsie turned back and continued walking, she could smell more familiar smells. Walking up to the sentinel, she called out; "Hi! Whoever you are, It's me, Kel". She couldn't recognize the cat on duty, but she knew they'd recognize her.

A light grey tabby squeezed through the alleyway, his fur scrappy and tufted - hardly groomed at all. His eyes were emerald green and shining with life - but you could tell he was a born killer. He hissed as a nearby human packet flew past. "How I hate humans." He mewed. "But don't tell that to them Pampered Cats! They'll have my tail." His tail lashed in disgust.

His tail stopped lashing and lifted curiously as he heard a familier voice - Kel, one of his Group-mates. "Oh, hello, Kel. How's things?" He meowed slowly, approching the she-cat.

Kelsie looked up, and smiled at the tom. "Heya Emerald!" She greeted him with a flick of her tail, before approaching him slightly. Looking down the alley again, a plastic bag fluttered down towards them. As it reached them, Kelsie took her claws to it slightly, tearing a hole and pinning it down to the ground. She was so, so tempted to shred it into a thousant pieces - like a kit playing with a leaf - but she didn't, and contented herself with growling under her breath.

A slight purr of affection and slight amusement escaped jokingly from Emerald's rough throat, creating a vibration in his voicebox. "So then ... what are you doing?" He asked, his emerald eyes that gave him his name shining as he said so. He shuddered as a human passed him. Those large creatures - stupid enough to take them home and pet them. This brought him to the scathing thought of his enemies - the Pampered Cats.

These cats were in theory, very soft, but when in battle, they couldn't be more different. Vicious, bloodthirsty cats when driven away from their soft side. They always wanted peace, but ended up fighting for what they wanted. "Those stupid cats. Foolish enough to be taken under the paw of vile humans ..." He whispered to himself.

Kelsie's face broke into a smile as she looked back over to Emerald from the plastic bag. "Hating humans and debating destroying the plastic bag....just for the pure heck of it!" She replied to his question, before jumping in fright slighly as the human walked past them. She hissed under her breath, and then flicked her tail, before nodding in agreement. "They think they're so clever, getting 'freedom' and petting and food from humans" She rolled her eyes at the Pampered cat's stupidity. Did they really think they'd survive the humans having kids, or moving? Then they would be like the rest of them, outcasts.

Emerald's emerald eyes rolled. "It's never been natural, no matter how well their humans treat them. It will always end up badly." His ears flicked. "And I don't blame ou about destroying the plastic bag." He looked up at the buildings. Thinking slowly, he looked around them, aware of a pair of amber eyes burning into his pelt. He glanced up to see a black and white she-cat staring down at them.

Cottontail's eyes bore down curiously at the two cats below. Her tail flicked with annoyance as she heard them talking about Pampered Cats. What was the point in living on the streets when you could have a nice place to live in? Nice humans to look after you, no responsabilities ... and nothing to do. The perfect life for a cat, wasn't it? Who wouldn't want to live a perfect life like this? Stupid stray cats....
