Rainpaw brought her prey to the center of the clearing and sat down. She took a few bites from the mouse that she had chosen and could already taste the wonderful juicy flavor of the meat as she swallowed it. Once she had finished her prey, she started to give herself a wash. Her pelt was fairly dirty and it felt great once it was sparkling clean. She calmly waited for Gingerpelt to return to camp; she just couldn't wait to find out what they were going to do today. Are we going hunting? Or maybe Gingerpelt will help me practice my battle skills... All of these thoughts began to go through her mind as she began to think of what they would get to do today.

Nightstar glanced over at the Medicine Cat den and wondered how Smallpaw was doing. Then he decided that he would go give her some company- she seemed to be lonely a lot, and he felt bad for her. He padded over to the pile of prey and then picked out two pieces for them. Afterward he happily padded over to the den, poking his head in to see if she was there. "Hi Smallpaw, I brought some prey for you. May I join you for this meal?" Nightstar asked gently as he smelled her familiar scent.

Dappleheart slowly nodded as Kestrelstar spoke. "Yes, I certainly agree. But we might as well enjoy this while it is still here." She mewed in agreement to his comment. After all, leaf-bare would come before they knew it and it was always wise to prepare beforehand. Dappleheart began to take a small bite from the vole she had chosen; she was starving, and this really helped to clear up her hunger.

Pantherpaw padded over to the Medicine Cat den and slowly started to walk inside. "Hi Mapleleaf." He said as calmly as possible, hoping not to startle her in any way. "Do you need any help with your herbs?" He asked with curiosity. Even though he wasn't a medicine cat apprentice, he enjoyed helping his clanmates in any way possible. Pantherpaw quietly waited for her response.

Smallpaw jumped slightly as she opened her mouth and smelt the Clan's loyal leader, Nightstar. "Oh - hi, Nightstar." She mewed softly. "Sure, I could do with a rest from all this. It is a bit lonely in here." She padded towards where the scent of the prey was, and bent down slightly and began to chew.

Kestralstar's humour returned. "She should go out hunting later. Just me and you?" She asked, strolling towards the fresh - kill pile, sitting down and eating after returning to where she was before.

Mapleleaf shook herself vigourously as Pantherpaw entered her den. She looked towards him, her eyes gentle, and nodded slowly. "Sure. I only need to order a few more leaves up and then I'll need to collect some more Poppy Seeds." She mewed.

Gingerpelt sighed, his mouth watering as he padded back to camp with his mouth full of his collected prey. Once he reached cmp he put down his prey and padded towards his apprentice. "Rainpaw," He mewed. "Instead of collecting moss, we will be doing some battle practice."

{Sorry for the late reply, I have been working on the two cats' forms... they will be finished soon though!}

Rainpaw anxiously watched as Gingerpelt padded into the camp. "Really? That's great!" She said with a touch of enthusiasm in her voice. She wasn't a huge fan of fighting, but she generally didn't like being the downer. Besides, it was really a huge step to move from collecting moss to practicing some battle moves. Rainpaw happily started to eat some more of the mouse until she had finally finished her meal.

"Sorry,I didn't mean to scare you." Nightstar mewed apologetically as he saw Smallpaw jump slightly. "Alright..." He said in reply when she said that he could join her. For a few moments he watched as she began to chew, then he started to eat some of his prey as well. "So how has the herb stock been lately?" Nightstar asked when the silence had dragged for a while.

"Sure,that sounds great." Dappleheart mewed in response to Kestralstar's question. She began to purr slightly at the thought of what might happen later on. She finished her prey and then went back to bathing her fur. It was very dirty this morning, and she didn't quite understand why it was. Dappleheart scanned the clearing to see if any other cats were awake yet.

"Okay." Pantherpaw mewed as he thought for a few moments. "What would you like me to do?" He asked curiously, looking down at the leaves that Mapleleaf had been sorting. Poppy seeds... those are used to help calm a cat, I think. He thought to himself. He wasn't the best when it came to memorizing herbs, but he surprisingly knew a few of them. Pantherpaw patiently waited for her reply.

Smallpaw smiled softly. "Oh - that's alright. I'm just a bit jumpy this morning." She bent down and took abother bite of the prey, sitting up as she heard Nightstar's question. "The stock's okay. I have to get set up properly in case we get hit by greencough."

Gingerpelt smiled. "Have you eaten today? You'll need your strength up." He mewed softly, padding towards her. {WB}

"Just collect some Yarrow leaves and Poppy seeds, and if you can find any, catmint." Mapleleaf smiled slightly as she watched the apprentice wander off. He had enthusiasm - there was no doubt about that. "He's good with herbs, but he'll always be a warrior." Mapleleaf straightened herself up and looked back at her herbs.

Kestrtalstar purred. "So how did you sleep last night?" He asked, tilting his head as he lifted it up.

(( I finally finished my forms! Could Swankit possibly have her apprentice ceremony soon? And it's alright, I know the feeling of having writer's block. I apologize for the wait... this week was my last week of school and I had to get a research report done by Friday. I should be able to reply a lot earlier now that school is out though. ))

Rainpaw continued to watch Gingerpelt as he padded toward her. "Yes, I have." She mewed in response to his question. She silently thought for a few moments before glancing up at Gingerpelt. "So where will we go to practice my battle skills?" She asked with curiosity in her voice. All of the different places that they could go had come into her mind, and she couldn't help but ask where they would be doing this.

"Oh, alright... I just felt bad after seeing you jump a bit." Nightstar mewed in response to her comment. He watched her for a few moments, his lips beginning to curve into a smile. "That's good. It's probably best for you to do that, it's better to be safe than sorry. Silentheart can help you with that as well." Nightstar commented, starting to take a few more bites of his prey.

Dappleheart continued to purr, then thought for a moment as she heard Kestralstar's question. "I slept okay... but I will say that I didn't get as much sleep last night compared to the amount that I usually get." Dappleheart mewed truthfully. She always tried her best to be honest, and she couldn't remember the last time that she had lied to another cat. After all, what good does it make to tell a lie? It just makes a cat dislike you even more. Or at least that was what Dappleheart thought about the concept of lying.

"Alright, I will go search for those herbs now." Pantherpaw mewed in response to Mapleleaf's request. He dutifully started to pad out of the Medicine cat den, only glancing back for a few moments. He headed toward the apprentices' den, which was where he knew the Poppy Seeds would be at. He grabbed a leaf and then started to get a few of the seeds. Afterward he put them on the leaf that he had gotten, closing it slightly with his paws so that they wouldn't fall out somehow. Then Pantherpaw started to head toward the camp clearing where the Yarrow Leaves were.

Swankit opened her blue-green eyes in the nursery with a huge yawn. It always felt so lonely here, since there were no queens or other kits to keep her company. Also, her parents going to Starclan when she was very young did not help that situation. Of course, she tried to push that memory aside, but it never worked very well. She rose from her bed made of moss and stretched out her pure white paws. Afterward, Swankit quietly padded outside of the nursery unaware that she had slept in fairly late.

Silentheart woke up abruptly, aware that she had slept in very late. She sighed with slight anger toward herself, wondering how Smallpaw was right now. This is what I get for sorting some of our herbs until late at night... She thought with a sigh. She slowly started to stand on all four paws, looking at her fur. It was so messy... but she would have to bathe later. Right now Silentheart had to go check and see how Smallpaw was doing at the moment.

Smallpaw's ears flickered slightly, and she smiled. Nightstar had alwaus pitied her, and she knew he liked her, but not loved. She looked around to see Silentheart, her mentor, rousing at last. She bent her head to take a last bite out of her fresh-kill and yawned after chewing it and swallowing. Her jaws glinted in the sunlight.

Gingerpelt pause for a moment. He had not thought about where. The training arena would be good, but recently he wanted to take his apprentice out somewhere else. "I think we'll go to the Training medow." His reluctance was hidden behind his mew.

Kestralstar nodded. "Well, most nights are sleepless. With the threat of MistClan we're all on high alert, and worrying." He mewed, chosing his words carefully, trying to not to put a paw in the wrong place. "Swankit's ready to become an apprentice," He changed the subject. "She has the potential of becoming a Medicine Cat. What do you think?" He rasped.

As the apprentice scampered away, she thought carefully about the soon-to-be apprentice, Swankit. She had liked her enthusiasm for herbs, but she was such a sweet little kit - she wouldn't midn her company. She shook her fur and strolled out of the den.

"Okay, that sounds awesome." She mewed, slightly surprised that they wouldn't be going to the training area again. She didn't dislike it or anything, it was just that they usually went there frequently. She glanced toward the direction of the Training Meadow before looking back at Gingerpelt. She began to rise from where she was sitting and finally stood beside her mentor. "I'm ready to go when you are." Rainpaw mewed, hoping that she didn't sound as enthusiastic as she really was right now.

Nightstar watched as Smallpaw's ears flickered slightly and he began to smile a bit more. He had never considered how much he liked her until now. The warm feeling inside of him whenever she was nearby, and how all of his problems began to slip away. No, snap out of it. He thought in his mind once he was unable to stop thinking about Smallpaw. She's a Medicine Cat Apprentice, and I am a leader. It just isn't logical- and it is against the warrior code as well. He concluded, beginning to return back to reality. "I see that Silentheart is awake now... I should probably leave. I will check in on you later though." Nightstar stated, glancing at Smallpaw before flicking his tail lightly as he started to walk out of the Medicine Cat den.

"Yeah... but things have been fairly peaceful between us and Mistclan lately. It is always best to be on alert though, just in case they plan to start a surprise attack on us." Dappleheart mewed in response to Kestralstar's comment. Swankit... She thought when he mentioned her name. "Yes, I agree with you; she's an enthusiastic young she cat who seems to be responsible enough to work with herbs. Swankit would be a great choice for a future Medicine Cat." Dappleheart mewed with agreement that certainly showed in her voice about his decision.

Once Pantherpaw had gathered the Yarrow Leaves and put them on the leaf that he already had, he began to search for some catmint. He found some of that particular herb, but not as many as he had hoped to find. He sighed slightly and added the catmint to what he already had on his leaf. Mapleleaf did say that catmint were difficult to find... He thought as an attempt to reassure himself. Pantherpaw carefully started to head back to the Medicine Cat den.

Swankit watched with curiosity as Mapleleaf began to head toward her direction. She wasn't used to another cat approaching her like this. Of course, she was very outgoing, it was just that usually she was ignored by the other clan members. Once Mapleleaf had reached where she was, she began to think of something to say. "Good morning, Mapleleaf. How are you?" Swankit asked with her usual soft yet gentle voice.

Silentheart noticed that Nightstar had been talking with Smallpaw and sighed with relief. At least she hadn't been lonely while I was still sleeping She thought silently to herself. When Nightstar had left, she began to pad over to where her apprentice was. "Hi Smallpaw. I apologize for sleeping in this late, I had been sorting through herbs all night." She mewed guiltily as she delicately placed the herbs that she had sorted next to the ones that Smallpaw had.

Smallpaw smiled slightly. "Bye, Nightstar," She mewed. The warmth she had felt left her as Nightstar left. Was it to be that they would become mates...? No, no. She shook herself. "Hi, Silentheart." She meowed. "I don't mind. I got up a while ago and started to finish what you started." She licked her chest fur.

Gingerpelt nodded. "Let's go." He meowed, getting to his paws and beckoning his apprentice along with his tail in the air. "We have to catch up on some training, but we might as well hunt a little bit on the way there. Sharpen up your skills a bit."

Kestralstar nodded. "Then it's decided." He mewed. "She's a little older than six moons old. She'll need some training soon." He blinked. "I'll call the meeting later."

Mapleleaf's ears twitched as Swankit catiously spoke to her. She seemed so sweet - like she had thought earlier. She heard Swankit's name being mentioned by Dappleleaf, and smiled. "Good morning Swankit. I'm good, what about you?" She asked, making her words short and sharp so she didn't confuse the kit with complex words.
