Coldpaw nodded and he watched his mentor before twitching his tail.

Morningrain purred and she padded out of camp, Sandyfern and Shadepaw were waiting. "Lets go." Sandyfern meowed, the chestnut she-cat got to her paws and stretched before she bounded away. Shadepaw blinked her amber eyes before she and Morningrain followed.

[walk.]

Duststrike stood up and mewed, "Right Coldpaw, now you try."

Brazenpaw shot after his mentor, mother and sister, he was so so excited! He sped past Shadepaw and Sandyfern until he had caught up with Morningrain and gradually over took her too!

Coldpaw nodded and he copied Duststrike; He leant backwards before he pushed himself up with his hindlegs. He waited until he knew he was going to start going down before he twisted so he was facing downwards. He twisted towards the earth until the last minute, when he copied Duststrike by unsheathing his claws and he crashed down.

Morningrain purred, and she ran so she could keep pace with Brazenpaw, and she led the patrol until she got to the thunderpath. "This is the thunderpath." She meowed. "Yeah, don't ever stray onto it." Sandyfern warned.

[walk.]

Duststrike nodded and mewed, "Excellent Coldpaw, for your assesment, you will have to fight Ice and get him to Surrender. He is very tough but if you pass, you will be a greatfully respected warrior. For your hunting assesment, you have to catch the biggest vole for Shimmerpelt, if she is satisfied, you will pass." he dipped his head and mewed, "Ok, we'd better let some other warriors in here. I need to go and tell Greystar about Willowbreeze and I." he limped out of the training area and hobbled up the hill to camp. Goldenpaw looked over and noticed the flecks of white on Duststrike's head, muzzle and back and how badly he was hobbling. She sighed sadly, she felt sorry for the warrior, he had just lost his younger brother and now he was being forced to retire to the elder's den by injury. She wished she could help him but knew Pondweed would know what to give him for his aches and pains. She was sharing a mouse with her father and she listened carefully as the deputy gave her tips about training, but all she really wanted to do was enjoy the flavour of her dinner, and then play moss ball. Then she noticed Duststrike begin to walk better and remembered how he had fallen in an awkward position, she laughed slightly as he shook the white sand from his pelt, the old Duststrike was back and soon he was going to be a father. Emberheart then remembered he had to train Firepaw and yelled, "Firepaw, five mintues and I want to see you by the Mist clan border, looking smart please!"

Brazenpaw placed one sandy ginger paw on the thunderpath then swiftly pulled it away as a monster came roaring past. He grinned gingerly at Sandyfern.

Coldpaw nodded and he padded out of the training hollow.

Greystar was sitting at the base of Highrock, his ears twitched and he sighed. Cloudkit padded out of the nursery, the small white tom had snuck out when his mother wasn't watching him. He flickered his ears and ran to his father. Firepaw heard Emberheart and nodded. "Ok!" She meowed, and she ran into the forest.

Sandyfern growled at Brazenpaw. "Don't Brazenpaw, cats die on the thunderpath." She meowed, she glanced at the thunderpath. "I had a apprentice when I became a warrior, his name was Mosspaw, and he got hit on the thunderpath and died on the day he should've gotten his warrior name." She meowed, then she tasted the air and caught a scent, she looked at Morningrain. "Get Brazenpaw and Shadepaw to camp!"

Duststrike wandered up the path to camp and spotted Willowbreeze. He padded over to her, tail flickering. He sat down beside her and mewed, "Are you alright?", he looked at her belly then pulled his head away, it would probably be too early to know if she was expecting kit's or not, but the Tom was hopeful. He didn't want a large litter, just a son to be a strong and great warrior, or a daughter to be the mot beautiful queen. He had waited his entire life for kits, after Rosepetal had given birth to hers, he was anxious that he might never have any.

Shimmerpelt was licking Shiverkit's fluffy grey scruff and the tiny kit meweled in complaint, squeaking slightly. Berrynose sighed sadly as she felt her swollen belly groan. She was expecting another litter of Lionfoot's kits but nobody knew yet, it was still early days. She wished she had made up with the Tom before he had left to stay with his new mate but she didn't really mind. She was beginning to love Foxgaze, she liked the way he was so down to earth and charming.

Brazenpaw looked up and mewed, "Why Sandyfern? What's wrong?" his tail twitched in anticipation, ready to fight.

Willowbreeze looked up, then she nodded. "I'm fine." She meowed.

Butterkit glanced around the nursery, the golden she-cats little tail wiggled in the air as she tried to stalk a leaf, but she squeaked as Cloudkit bit her tail playfully.

Sandyfern tasted the air and growled. "Dogs, two of them." She meowed, and she noticed how close they were to the SnowClan border, then she looked at Brazenpaw and Shadepaw. "You two go back with Morningrain and warn the Clan." She meowed. Shadepaw nodded and looked at Morningrain.

[walk.]

Duststrike lay down beside her and mewed, "Can I get you anything to eat, we might have little mouths to feed in there!" he chuckled and brought over a smallish rabbit.

Shiverkit squermed and came free of his mother's grip and came tumbling over. He tripped over his longhaired large tail and crashed into Butterkit, sending her flying. He stood up shakily and shook the dust from his grey fur and went running over to his sister and mewed in his warbling voice, "I'm tewwibly sworry Bwutterkit, do you forgwive me?"

Brazenpaw shook his head and mewed, "I'm not leaving you here alone Mum, you got injured last time when you were left alone and a moon after you got pregnant with us, I swore to star clan it wouldn't happen again!" his tail lashed and he planted his paws firmly in the ground.

Willowbreeze purred with amusement, and she flickered her tail. "Thanks Duststrike." She meowed as he brought the rabbit over.

Butterkit squeaked as she was sent flying across the nursery, but she landed safely, and she looked up as her brother Shiverkit came over. She purred and got to her paws and nuzzled her brother. "Its alright Shiverkit." She meowed. "I forgive you." Then she looked at her mother. "Mama, dad told me how many lives he has left!"

Sandyfern growled. "Brazenpaw, you just became an apprentice and I would rather die then see you die or get injured!" She snapped. "Besides, four cats can't beat two dogs." She added. "...Fine...you can stay, but I do not want you fighting, I want you to look out for the patrol when Morningrain and Shadepaw get it." Sandyfern decided. Morningrain and Shadepaw both pelted towards camp.

[walk.]

Duststrike laughed lightly and nudged the rabbit quickly towards her and flickered his tail to show her to eat a piece. He peered over slyly at her stomach and noticed a slight buldge and said to himself, "She is probably just getting a bit larger.... Is she?"

Shiverkit let out a sigh of relief and came running over to Shimmerfur and Butterkit and sat at his mother's feet. Shimmerfur looked at Butterkit in interest and mewed, "Are you allowed to tell me little one?" she lapped Shiverkit's fur untill he pulled away with a good natured growl.


Brazenpaw nodded and leapt up onto a small yet high rock and mewed, "I'll look out from here Sandyfern. If you smell the dog, tell me and I'll send out the warning signal."
