Greystar's fur bristled as he saw the badger enter camp. The badger swung its head around until it spotted Greystar and Greystar started snarling words to the badger, but he wasn't speaking cat. The badger stared at him, and Greystar froze as he felt claws rip into his face and he got flung away from the badger. He landed with a thump and scrambled to his paws, half his face already covered in blood and he watched as the badger charged towards him, he ducked as the badger swiped a paw at him, but his eyes went wide as the badger reared up. Greystar turned and went to run, but the badger slammed down on him full force, and there was a sickening snap sound. Rosepetal dashed out of her den and launched herself onto the badgers face. She slashed at its eyes and jumped off. The badger grunted in pain and blindly lumbered out of camp.

[walk.]

Yewclaw had been holding his breath the entire time but let it all out when the badger left. Shimmerfur bounded out and nuzzled him and mewed, "Greystar, I am expecting our kits!"

Rosepetal looked at the cats and flickered her tail. "Move back, the badger broke his backbone." She meowed. "He can't hear you, it knocked him out. The backbone didn't break in the middle, it broke where the legs are, so he could still be able to walk on one of his legs."

[walk.]

Shimmerfur gasped and mewed, "Won't he just loose a life? Oh Greystar you brave, courageous cat... I love you no matter if you run, limp or crawl..." the golden she cat nuzzled him. Pondpaw came out and mewed, "I can fix it." he gave Greystar several Poppy seeds and set to work expertly slicing open his skin and taking a small bamboo stick, he wedged it between the break, creating a new bone. He stitched up the wound and wrapped all around his back legs and base of his back in strong weeds.

Rosepetal flickered her tail as she watched Pondpaw, then she flickered her ears. "Nice work Pondpaw." She meowed. "You can help me carry him to his den." She added, and she grabbed Greystar's scruff.

[walk.]

The strong Tom hauled Greystar onto his back and padded along into the den. Followed by Shimmerfur. He layed Greystar down in the bed and said, "When the bones start to grow back, the bamboo stick will be removed and I will very tight rap his back and legs in weed and we will have to wait for it to heal."

Rosepetal nodded, and she looked at Shimmerfur. "If he wakes up I want you to call one of us to come and take a look at him for any other injuries." She meowed, then she padded out of the den, she looked towards Greystar's den before she jumped on Highrock, The leader had told her who the deputy would be, and she had to announce it.

Shimmerfur nodded and sat loyally by Greystar's side. She licked the blood from any minor cuts and gently nuzzled his head and brushed her sleeky tail,along his velvet soft nose. Emberheart frowned when Rosepetal jumped onto high rock then knew that she must be announcing the deputy.

Rosepetal looked at the Clan. "Greystar told me the choices of who could be deputy." She started. "And since he can't be here, I want the Clan to decide out of the three choices. The choices are Emberheart, Duststrike and Yewclaw."

[walk.]

Duststrike mewed, "I would like to step down, I feel I am not ready and both of these cats deserve it more than me.. Good luck Emberheart and Yewclaw." he bowed his head and went to sit down.
