Falconkit sighed and mewed, "I feel awful, I could have fended Fastwind off myself yet I get dad involved, it's all my fault.."

[wolf ;;]

"Its not your fault, Falconkit." Bramblekit meowed. "Things happen for a reason."

[walk.]

Falconkit mewed, "Well, Dad's death happened for no apparent reason did it?!"

[wolf ;;]

"No." Bramblekit meowed. "Dad knew what he could get if he tried to fight Fastwind, but he would care about you first before himself, he had to save you."

[walk.]

Falconkit sighed and shrugged and said, "I know, I just wish he knew I was greatful for it..." he sighed and looked to the moonlit sky and said, "Well, night then Bramblekit and padded into the nursery."

[wolf ;;]

Bramblekit flicked her ears and watched her brother, then she looked at the sky.

Rain woke up with a jolt, it was night, and they were beside a thunderpath. It would be dangerous for them to stay, and she went over to Yew and prodded him in the side.

[walk.]

Hawkfang padded over to his little sister and mewed, "Missing Dad? I am too... I was his first born kit... Wow. He was a legend to everyone, all the cats in all the clans knew Emberstar. He was the ideal leader..."

Yew grunted and growled, "Go away!" but got up and shook his pelt clean of the sharp twigs and brambles. He grabbed the two kits again and mewed, "Where are we going Rain? And why?! It is dark now,"

[wolf ;;]

"We're going deeper into the forest, we are sleeping just inside the border of the forest, beside the thunderpath, if we stay, I know for sure a monster will stop and twolegs will try to get the kits." Rain meowed, and she went and woke Morning.

Bramblekit nodded, and she flicked her tail. "Yeah, he was one of the best leaders of NightClan apart from Nightstar himself."

[walk.]

Yew groaned and began to pad down the muddy slope, his ragged chestnut pelt becoming speckled with mud as his long legs danced through the mud. A kit squeaked in his jaws and he sighed sadly.

Hawkfang sighed and mewed, "He really was. Between you and me, Moonstar has really not made a good impression on the clan so far. Either me or Gremlinstorm we top choice for deputy, yet Yellowsparrow got it, and he disagreed with the clan about Reedpaw... Not so good."

Rain and Morning followed Yew, holding the three other kits.

Bramblekit nodded. "Moonstar must have a lot on his mind if he chose Yellowsparrow as deputy...sure, he is a loyal cat, but he looks like he isn't ready to be a deputy yet."
