"I have accepted him as my own! But he will have to know some time, we can't hide it forever, and the more we keep it from him the more he will be upset and angry at us when we do tell him." Moonheart meowed.

Splashkit purred and flicked his tail.

Littlepaw blinked her eyes, then she glanced around camp, wondering where her brother or mother were.

[walk.]

Rubystorm sobbed, "Why can't he just grow up never knowing! Even the father doesn't know he exists, they will never find out. He has your eyes Moonheart, that's all that is keeping him from being found out. We are not telling him!"

Redkit sighed, laughing. She lay down and licked a paw.

Reedpaw lay just by the camp gate.

"It would be wrong to keep it from him Rubystorm, you know that." Moonheart meowed.

Splashkit grinned, and he saw his tail twitching and tried to get it.

Littlepaw saw her brother and padded over to him. "Hey Reedpaw!"

[walk.]

Rubystorm mewed, "You tell him then, since your the one who wants to and I suggest you go and tell the clan who is their new deputy."

Redkit watched, rolling her eyes.

Reedpaw looked up and said, "Hi! I can't talk right now, Brazenfire is taking me, Whisperpaw and Swanpaw on patrol! He is doing where storm clan are and we are doing snake rocks!"

Littlepaw nodded. "Have fun." She meowed, then she went to the fresh kill pile.

Splashkit stopped and sighed, then he lied down and put his head on his paws.

Moonheart nodded and he flicked his tail, then he padded out of the den, he would tell Splashkit once he got back from Moonstone. He leaped onto Highrock. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

[walk.]

Reedpelt chuckled and mewed, "I'll just listen to who is the new deputy.'

The clan gathered beneath high rock.

Moonheart looked at his Clanmates, and he wasn't sure if he should choose this cat as deputy or not, even if he hadn't had an apprentice yet. "I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of NightClan is Yellowsparrow." He announced.

[walk.]

Yellowsparrow blinked, wow! He had been sure Gremlinstorm would get it. He hushed murmur came from the clan, this cat hadn't even had his first apprentice. Emberheart shook his head sadly at Moonheart's choice and limped back into the warriors den.

Moonheart flattened his ears when cats started to murmur to one another. He then jumped down from Highrock, dismissing the meeting.

Yellowsparrow padded to Moonheart and mewed, "Moonheart, rethink your choice! I also inexperienced and have had no apprentices, you should choose a more experienced warrior!"
