Smiling warmly, I close my eyes and wait for something to happen.

serin licked its mothers chin. it fell asleep next to her belly.

I smiled in my sleep as Serena nuzzled her face in my chest for protection.

i ran as fast as i could. i wasn't going no where. i was stuck in a shell. i was green. my shell was green. dark green. i always heard talking outside my egg. then a jerk. i was being carried. i scratched at the shell, but to no avail. i screeched. nothing. i felt a thud. then a kick. i was rocking back and forth. until i was picked up. then four pointy things poke my shell. they pierce my shell. they poke my skin. it hurts. blood trickles. venom flowing through my veins. i thought i was going to die. but i began getting colder and colder. my shell looked different. i ell into a deep sleep. i felt something soft under my shell. i awoke. i hit my head on the egg shell. soon a burst of light....

serin awake with a start. it breathed heavily. it looked up and saw its sleeping mother. it lied there on its back, breathing heavily.

Serena woke up too and weakly walked over to serin. " Are you ok?" she mumbled. I woke up and saw Serena talking the the other hatchling. I smiled and watches them talk.

"i'm fine. just a dream." it said. *am i a boy or a girl?* it wondered to itself.

Serena gently nuzzled her forehead to serin's forehead then came back to me. She hopped back into my arms and fell back to sleep. I kissed her forehead then then back to sleep too.
