Who is this god of death, who handed those people the pretty medicine they wished for?

Set in 13th century France.
A demon has taken the throne of a wealthy territory in France. He has forced his subjects to give him their firstborn children when they reach the age of 15. The ruling monarch is not pleased with this ‘unholy’ abomination and hires the aid of two skilled hunters to eradicate the demon before his power grows. But will it be as simple as this? Can two hunters truly defeat a creature that was spit out of the bowels of hell itself?
Let the battle begin.

Kamijo Yuuji

Kamijo shifted slightly on the throne he sat upon. He was waiting on his guests, and was growing slightly impatient. Demon hunters were rarely late, though they weren’t expecting him to know of their inevitable arrival. He was well aware of the orders the king had sent. It made him laugh to think that the monarch actually thought mere humans could take down a demon such as he, even ones that had been trained to hunt down his kind. He was prince of hell, or rather he used to be. He was banished from that nether realm for his homicidal means of gaining power. You see a demon gains the power of another demon if he simply drinks the blood and devours the soul of that demon. Power was something Kamijo was fond off.

Firefox and Slasher were hesitant as they walked toward where the monarch had said the demon would be. The thought of meeting him face-to-face was petrifying..."...You ready for this?" asked Slasher, hesitantly. "Not really, but think about it..There's two of us and one of him." said Firefox with a shrug. He was right on that part, but the weapons they had were useless against a demon...The bows and arrows would snap and the demon could easily break or bend the swords and knives. Firefox sped up with a confident look on his face, while Slasher walked slowly and hesitantly.

Kamijo Yuuji

Kamijo heaved a sigh, tapping his foot in irritation. He’d been a prince in hell and was a count now, so he was used to getting what he wanted at a rather quick pace. The fact that the hunters weren’t here yet annoyed him beyond believe. He stood, his cloak settling around him with a flourish. He walked away from the throne and down the red carpeted hall, toward the large wooden doors that lead out of the castle. He didn’t expect the hunters to come through the front door but he’d be able to smell them the moment they entered the large castle. Sadly, the d*amned humans hadn’t weren’t in his abode. Though he supposed it would be better to battle outside anyway, less damage to repair that way.
He threw open the large, and heavy, wooden doors wincing slightly at the sun. Of course hunters were intelligent enough to attack a demon when his powers were at their ebb. High noon wasn’t a pleasant time for a nocturnal creature. The sun hurt his eyes and skin, though he would burn at the contact, he’d gained too much power to be damaged by the holy rays of light. Else he would have stayed within his dark castle.

As the two hunters came close, Slasher jumped when he heard the soud of the wooden doors, opeining. "What now?!" asked Firefox impatiently. "Did you hear that? We're getting closer," said Slasher, lowering his voice. Firefox looked around. "Maybe, we should start to stay down and quiet." he said in a whisper. "Good plan...How about we go seperate ways?" suggested Slasher. "Uh, sure. You go straight, and I'll make a little turn here," said Firefox as he began to walk off. Slasher walked more and more. Then, that's when he saw the place where the demon had stayed. He quickly went and hid behind a bush.

Kamijo heaved a sigh and leaned against the door frame rather than going venturing outside. He much rather stay inside and wait than be forced into the torturous before absolutely necessary. He clicked his boots against the floor, deciding he’d make noise to draw the insufferable humans near. He took a deep breath and began to sing loudly, his voice carrying far. He sang melodiously, but the words were in his native demonic tongue. Such a song would poison a human who wasn’t used to such a thing and draw them toward him. Being hunters of demons they may or may not have a resistance against his voice, either way he’d rather them come to him.
