They were a threat. Every threat had to be terminated.

Ever since he could remember Thomas Kimpps had the desire to do something with his life, something that not your average day person would get the chance to do. He wanted to work in one of the biggest law enforcements that helped "RAD" or Radioactive Alert Dectors. Basically it was a strict organization, that helped when something "unnatural" tipped the scale. Of course RAD had little work to do, as of law many things that would have been seen as unnatural would be outlawed and illegal. He had been training his whole life to be doing something better though than sitting around and training all the time. He was in one of the best physical conditions of his life, and he knew it to. He could take on anything that they sent on him, and he was considered one of the best in the field. He didn't know why they called him that though, he wasn't the best for the sole reason that he had done nothing that could show what he had learned and how well he could handle life in the field.

Nothing... Until a week ago.

The twenty four year old had been sitting back at work, he had his own office of course, and had just finished some of his training bouts for the day. He had beaten one of the newbies - Johnson quickly, and was sure that he could take on anyone else. That was when it happened. What he had been waiting for all this time... The alarm went off. Quickly making his way down various stairs as fast as he could, he quickly entered the highly genterated elevator which after only a few seconds it seemed, opened him up to the almost sci-fi looking board room. Everyone was there, and the leader of RAD Mr. Thompson stood on a landing at the edge of the room. "Please, please calm down." He begged as everyone seemed in a fuss, wondering about what the hell was really going on. Tom kept quiet though, and his blue eyes narrowed as he waited for the silence to cease, and his boss to continue on.

"I know that you all must be a bit curious as to what is going on," Thompson's voice boomed. "But I assure you it's nothing that we can't handle. A sector 088 was created some years back and due to it's underground location we were unable to idenify it's existence. However now the sector has had a security breach, and some of their experimentations have... Gotten loose..." There was a loud murmering in the crowd of confused and some frightened people. Tom couldn't believe it, sectors had been banned some years back. It was cruel and unholy to test humans, and yet some twisted people thought that it was fine to turn innocent souls into monsters. These creatures would have to be killed of course, and he knew that a squad of RAD hunters would be the ones to take them down. Of course it would probably be hard, it would be unsure what kind of things were done to them. Right? As if he could read Tom's mind, Thompson spoke again with a cough.

"We have some of the info on the "creatures" that escaped, it's vague and quite top secret. Let's just say that they're deadly and not to be messed around with. We'll need some of our top members to be trusted with the dealings of these monsters!" Tom knew that he would be picked, he had to be. He would never forgive Thompson if he wasn't chosen. Like a little child wanting to be first in line, he pushed his way through the crowd, and towards the front of the employees. Some of them giving him a sour look. Thompson just looking down at him slightly confused at first and than smiling. As if he understood what Tom was trying to say, even without saying anything at all. "Yes Kimpps, you may go."

That was why he was here right now in the forest, the creatures, they were out here somewhere. He knew that they were probably too smart to go into the city, it wasn't like they weren't being searched for by the thousands of people that wanted the 4.5 million reward money for their heads. But Tom really wished these people would stay back and let RAD do the taking care of it, they were untrained, but Tom was. Currently he sat in a forest clearing, he and his small troop of three others were taking a break. One man Jeff Hudson was supposed to be watching guard instead he was swatting at a fly.

"Jeff.. What the hell are you doing?" Tom looked at the younger man, as the confused Jeff turned to look at him puzzled.

"Oh uh... Well, you know. I can't risk getting a diease from a fly. That's where they come from."

"Yes," Tom stood up. "In Africa."

Hudson held his head in slight shame. The current other member in the camp Roger Layden laughed. He was older than both of them in his mid thirties, and a long scar came across his face from a car crash some years before. "Yeah, besides we're worried about the mutants remember? Not some tropical blood diease."

Hudson made a disturbed face, and gulped with widdened eyes. Tom wasn't sure why he had been put on his mission, he was too young at only nineteen to be put on this misson. Even though his father was Thompson's right hand man Jack. Maybe it was just trying to get the new guy a chance? Tom didn't know, but he wouldn't question Thompson's decsion. Tom himself was here after all right? So that was at least one good thing.

Talitha Norbon

With a cocky smirk spread across her face, Talitha looked up towards the sky. She couldn't risk her reputation by turning down a job, but then again, she wasn't into hunting the little ones. The troublemaking pests that got out not two days ago couldn't have gone far. And they couldn't have been very smart to be messing with the RAD. There were hunters at every door, ready to be dispatched on a mission. For all she knew, the ones that got away were probably let out on purpose just so that there would be a little excitement. The RAD facility is one the best institutions that there were, after all. A high-level security with trained soldiers, the latest technology, and heavy artillery on top of that. You would have to have been a complete fool to try and escape such a place. No monster should have been able to get out. It could have been Harley. That guy always wanted a little action while on guard duty. Then again, there were plenty of guards in this place that got bored of just watching the miserable pests rot away in their cells like the monsters they were. It was a wonder that no one established a hunt specifically to get rid of the beasts sooner, before something like this could happen. After all of the tests, they were bound to be terminated at some point, so what could the harm be? Of course, there were those laws in place that prevented them from doing something so gruesome. Those monsters looked like humans… Well… Most of them, anyway. It was ridiculous to think that little issue prevented them from having the hunts that she so dearly craved.

Talitha sighed at that thought, lowering her head to look at her team members. She could only recognize two out of the three. The kid really wasn't any of her concern, but they were just about the same age, her being only four years older. Years of training after being attack by those horrible creatures left absolutely nothing to the imagination. She felt that she knew just what they were up to. Those creatures trying to overthrow the humans as the dominant species. Ridiculous.

Her green eyes glimmered for a moment at the sound of laughter, looking over at Roger before noticing the look on young Hudson's face. Her smirk had been wiped clean from her face and her eyes turned sharp as daggers, as if she could literally rip someone's heart out in a blink of an eye.

"Why'd we have to take him with us anyway? He's still in the middle of basic training. The kid has no proper training." She hissed impatiently, standing up not long after Thomas did. She was fed up with the amateurs. After having a rough time in the past with those beasts, Talitha dedicated her life to her training, fighting any creature she got the pleasure of meeting. She definitely had the experience to find some little runts that slipped through the cracks.

With another threatening glare towards the idiot child, Talitha walked off towards the treelike towards the town. She had her hands tucked away in the pockets of her tawny coloured pants and shrugged her shoulders to fix the annoying scratching of her dark jacket, a look of distain plain on her face. She was ready to rip off some heads. despite the orders to bring them back alive. It wasn't at all costs, so she could rip them apart if she wanted to. She could always say that it was out of self defence. It wasn't like if those beasts protested, the RAD supervisors would take their word over her own. Taking down these two would help her well on her way towards having crushed a hundred of them.

"You boys coming or what?" Talitha said, almost taunting them with her satin voice, her head turning and causing a ripple to run through her sleek hazel hair. She was always this way before a fight. Whether she thought that she would win or lose, her confidence was nearly unshakable. "We don't have all day with these small fry." She added on in a hurry, her walking making the chains that she was wearing jingle lightly.

Those chains were some of her best weapons. Her specialty. Even if they could be a little noisy, she was best at attracting attention, or throwing off her targets with that jingle. It brought another smirk to her face that she wasn't use to showing off. Around others, she kept this sullen expression, like she was angry at the world. It was able to bring on the wrath of some of higher ranked officers or soldiers her way. She wasn't too high up in the ranks. A mere hunter, but she took pride in her job, and the only time she would ever dare to even think of asking for a promotion would be when she could simply be paid more for what she did then and there. She had a little sister to protect, and having a cushy job where she didn't need to train was meaningless. This was where she felt that she belonged.

It was then that she heard something in the distance. It was unmistakable. The sound of prey scurrying through the grass. It was too slow to be a while animal, unless an animal was stupid enough to oppose the humans. Her grin turned malicious in a matter of seconds, and she took off towards the sound, not even waiting for orders to be given. Even if she was experienced, they left Thomas in charge for this one. Probably because he was Thompson's little favourite. She couldn't care less about his place in the organization. Just as long as she could spill a little blood.

=============================
Nicolai Ruan

After going through what he thought would be his hell, he was surprised to have gotten out. Of course, he considered himself to be as powerful as a god, so he shouldn't have been too surprised about it. With his shirt cinched by the constant shock he had to go through to escape, he was forced to trudge on through the summer heat and mucky humidity. He wiped the sweat from his brow and grumbled lowly, his annoying uniform not proving useful in the heat. He was able to rest once he was a good distance away from the facility and ripped off the sleeves and legs of his clothing, now wearing them as a headband against his forehead, his rustic brown hair draped over his eyes from how much they had grown. He had gone through no more than two tests before he had prepared enough to escape, but that had been enough to weaken his fighting ability. They took his claws and filed down his fangs to a point where he couldn't even hunt well. He had been able to survive off of little woodland creatures like rabbits and mice, but he was still ferociously hungry… It wasn't enough for him.

His stomach growled fiercely, his eyes trained on the distance. He was looking for movement… Anything that he could eat. He was far away from his mountain. The place that he called home. It hurt so badly to feel the pain of hunger, and the strain was sapping his strength. He was able to find just one more mouse for his lunch, snapping it up in his hand the second that he could before slowly strangling it to death. He had no choice, in the form that he was in. Once the little mouse's body was rendered motionless, he slapped it down and shifted slowly into the smallest form that he had, so he wouldn't rip his clothing. He became a small bear cub, shuffling out of his clothing and chomping down on the morsel he managed to capture. He was lucky that he didn't need to run after this one, swallowing the mouse whole before crawling back into his clothes and shifting back, a strain placed on his body from shifting. Swallowing a mouse with a human's throat would be painful.

At least what he found out here was so much more delicious than the gruel they would serve him in the cell they called a room. The portions they served were almost as bad as a hospital in there, and the beds were even less comfortable than laying on stones. It was unbearable! No pun intended. He straightened out his clothing quietly, his eyes shifting between golden and black as the hunger came and went. The strain that he was putting on himself while he shifted wasn't a pleasant one, but it was necessary in order for him to eat. Human food was just so crude, not a slab of juicy meat for him to choke down with those disgusting veggies humans called food.

Licking away what blood was left at the corner of his lips, Nicolai grumbled softly as he walked on, his clothing wrinkled and covered in dirt. At least the dirt would cover up his scent for the most part, and being what he was, he could easily discourage the humans' worthless little guard dogs.

Speaking of scents… he picked up the scent of humans not far behind him. That wasn't good… That meant that he had been tracked. If he shifted now, his clothing would burst at the seams and leave evidence of his being there, and shifting into a bear cub wasn't the smarter idea, considering that they would probably have information on his being. Not the full story, but enough for them to recognize his tracks no matter what form he took that wouldn't leave something behind. He had only one option.

Run.

Taking off in a steady run, Nicolai made use of his powerful legs. At least he had the advantage of them not knowing his name… Even if being called by a series of letters and numbers proved to be increasingly annoying every time they shouted that at him. He had been tempted to shout out his true name, but restraining himself seemed best. It wouldn't be good form for him to lose his composure, especially against weak humans… Weak… yet strangely all knowing humans. Those frightening creatures created such terrifying things. Works of magic like shifting the land or making these strange coats that could be changed at will. They weren't like other animals. They didn't fear him or listen. All they would do was torment him, look at him as if he were nothing but a beast instead of the noble spirit he had been for over three hundred years in that mountain. There were stories and offerings made for him, but… That was in the past. He had to spend his days in secret, only the animals spreading his tales now, while the ungrateful humans that lived on his mountain continued to waste its beauty by trampling all over it with their steel monsters and wooden dens. He had to get home, and he couldn't get captured here. Not for the death of him.
