In Love and War (1x1 Kat and Hornz)

[Hornz]

Light shook his head slightly. "No. And I never said that I thought the FBI agents were evil, either. Like you said, they were just doing their job, but they ended up being warnings." He was being honest, too.

[JDsalamander]

L didn't say anything for a few seconds. Then, he asked, "Light-kun, may I ask you a question?"

[Hornz]

"Yes, go ahead." Light shifted against the wall. If it's "Are you Kira," I swear to god...

[JDsalamander]

"Answer me honestly. Have you ever believed that the world would be better if you had never even existed?" L asked, voice sounding....odd.

[Hornz]

Light blinked in shock. That was te last question he had expected to be asked. "Personally? I've never thought about it. I guess in some ways, I suppose it would be. Why?" Was that supposed to be a way to make him admit to being Kira? Half of him thought it was, but the other half doubted it. It didn't sound like L was trying to make him admit to anything, but, then again, it could just be an act.

[JDsalamander]

"Hm. Because, I wanted to make sure you understood before I told you this." He paused. "You know, not all criminals are the ones who deserved to die. I...I knew one who became the way he did simply because of my existence." As L said this, he began to sound rather haunted, almost nervous.

[Hornz]

For some reason, that sounded slightly familiar to Light, though he couldn't remember why. "Oh..." He really didn't know how to respond to that. Raising an eyebrow slightly, the question came out before he could think it over. "Are you alright?"

[JDsalamander]

".....Physically and mentally, yes. I suppose I am. Anyways, Light-kun, the bottom line of what I'm telling you is that it isn't criminals who are evil, but the people who made them." L replied. "I...have to go."

[Hornz]

Light nodded slightly, thinking over what had just been said. But they're still criminals... Shaking his head, he decided to save the thought for later. Now wasn't the time to debate over it. "Bye, then. I suppose..."

L took his finger off of the button, frowning slightly. "That was rather odd of me........"
