Letting her hands fall to her sides, Raggen looked to her right for a moment, thinking, visualizing what way exactly was the other route. Being a riche and all, he probably didn't know too much about the backways and shortcuts through the ally ways like she did. "Just behind the treeline is the bank, you should know that..." She muttered. "When you get behind the bank, just go to your left then take another right and do down that ally way, after that -" Stopping herself, Raggen let out a soft sigh. She could already see him being beaten down and jacked of all his wealthy items... which pretty much covered everything on him and in his hands. Other than the coffee. Maybe just the coffee mug would go for something. "Look, I'll just show ya. Come'on." Motioning to him, Raggen didn't really give him a choice the way she'd said it.

}}

She sort of figured it was for his own good. Then again, she wasn't sure why she was helping him out, after all, didn't he have enough of everything he wanted handed to him? Raggen didn't really mind. She figured maybe she'd get a tip or something, being that he probably had money to throw away.

There's two sides, that's the way it is,
and there's nothing we can do to change that.
Michael thought about it for a second, something evidently going on behind his blue eyes. After a bit of pondering, smiled gratefully, puffing out another smoke cloud. "Thanks, that would be awesome." It was obvious she thought he couldn't handle going there, and maybe she was right. After all, she probably knew this town better than he did. A nice, long day away from his family. No annoying brothers, fathers, or mothers to mess up his summer vacation. Certainly didn't feel like summer, with this lingering chill, but beggars can't be choosers. The teenager stifled an exhausted yawn, almost losing his cigarette. Considering it was his last, one, that would probably be a bad idea. He waited to the strange girl to set off, eager to see whatever safer route she was talking about.

Suddenly, though, the happy expression melted off of his face. In the distance, he could hear voices, Jonathan and Sam. It had totally slipped his mind that they had little league or whatever this morning. The field wasn't too far away, on their side of the train tracks, but they would certainly see Michael, even through the trees. He was sure it was his brothers, at this point, and he shot the girl a panicked glance. Lowering his voice, he whispered, "Oh, shoot. Can we, uh, get going? I'm dead meat if they find me."

Lifting her head to the sound of voices that came from just beyond the treeline from 'his side', Raggen smirked at his reaction. Obviously he knew the approaching voices, and to him the meant trouble. Of course, Raggen wasn't quite sure with why he was so eager to get away from everything he had - literally, everything. Humming a laugh she motioned for him to follow her. "Let's get movin' then." She replied, starting into the thin treeline that covered the gray, lifeless city from the train tracks. She couldn't help but wonder exactly why he was in such a rush so be getting away from his family or friends. Or both. She loved her family and friends. Well, he 'street' family. They weren't exactly her biological family by blood, but they'd taught her everything she knows on living on your own and street smarts. She never could have made it there with out them. They were friends to her, who would do anything for her. If they had to, Raggen was sure they'd stick their necks out for her, and she'd do the same for them.

Turning back she figured he might have a little trouble getting up the steep slope with the laptop and coffee in his arms. With a little jump she slid down half way on her feet and held out a hand. "Need help with any'a your stuff, riche?"

Biting his lip for a moment, Michael imagined all too easily how she would take his computer and run. Better his coffee than his laptop, though. He passed the still-warm cup up to her, using his free hand to remove his cigarette from his mouth and drop it to the ground, where it quickly sputtered out under the heel of his shoe. So much for being eco-friendly, but he certainly didn't carry an ashtray around with him, did he? A more pressing problem involved his brothers, who were fact approaching from the other side. Nodding his silent thanks, he clambered up the slope, his macbook clutched firmly under one arm. No use trying to hide it as they passed through the poorer sections, for all he knew someone would find it all the more obvious when he had a rectangular bump under his shirt. Praying that it wouldn't draw too much attention, he straightened up, casting a nervous glance in the direction of his brothers voices. Evidently not wanting to talk, he stood there, awaiting this odd girl to show him her secret route. Certainly not an ideal morning.
(Sorry for the short post, I'm really busy D:)

Raggen snorted softly at the fact he was rushing to get away from his own family. Shaking her head as she reached down and clutched his coffee then retreated to wait for him to push himself up the slope, she lead him into the thin layer of trees that hid the dreadful city behind it. In all truth, it wasn't all that bad, but once you've been living there half your life it gets old. The people too caught up in their own lives, the noise, the cloud of smog that hung over the blue sky making it seem always grey, and the danger. The danger, believe it or not was probably Raggen's favorite part of the whole thing. It was the only thing that ever kept anything interesting and her heart racing. If it weren't for the danger, she'd surly die of all the boring the city held.
After they'd cleared into the tree line and left the double racks behind, Raggen handed the warm cup back to the stranger.
"Where ya headed again? The cafe, right?" She asked, shoving her hands back into her jean pockets.

}}

Pulling one hand out from the pocket, Raggen pushed aside her dark bangs, only for them to fall gently back into her eyes. Letting out a soft sigh she lifted her head and continued her naturally confident walk. Turning her head to the strange boy, she studied him up close for the first time. Dark hair, black, actually, with deep, blue eyes. She might of thought he was attractive, if it weren't for the nasty stench of the smoke that lingered around him.
