Crash simply sighed and shook her head as Bailey shrugged, her ears a'prick. Disbelief pulsated from the fae and Crash left her tail-tip on Bailey's shoulder in a comforting gesture. True, she did believe that Ember's death was wrong, but Ember did provac Bailey. Had she not done that, Bailey would have never lashed out, causing Ember's fatal wounds. Crash felt her heart being torn in all different directions, but she kept her gaze even. She had to be strong. For the both of them.
"How can I really let go of her death?" Bailey's hard voice suddenly rang in the air and Crash paused. "You would neverknow because you couldn't hurt anything!" A sad note was thick in Bailey's voice and Crash flicked an ear, a bit taken aback. To be honest, Crash was not expecting this kind of reaction from Bailey. She had thought that she would have simply shrugged in disbelief, or burst into tears at the most. But never, ever did Crash stop to think that Bailey would react with anger.
Bailey suddenly looked up at Crash with a flushed face, her eyes narrowed into tiny slits. "I don't think anybody will forgive him. It's a horrid crime that nobody wants to expierience." she hissed, her eyes glazed with pain. Crash paused, unsure of what to say next. Her words had failed her; every last drop of her logic was discinegrated into black nothingness. Bailey had completely thrown her off by reacting with such rage; now what was there to say?
Before Crash could utter a word, Bailey had turned tail and fled. Crash watched as the fae's speckled pelt disappeared into the night forest, engulfed in the black abyss. Worry shot through Crash and her tail swished nervously. Baliey was not safe roaming the woods at night, escpecially with a broken leg. If her injuried didn't get to her, than the chil of the night certainely would. Crash narrowed her eyes in determination. She had already lost one wolf, and barely saved another, she couldn't let anything happen to Bailey!
"Bailey!" Crash howled after the fae, bounding after her. As she swerved into the woodland, Crash was oh-so careful not to smash into anything as she went. As the clear light of the river dispersed behind her, the moon was barely casting a light in the forest. Crash narrowed her eyes, following Bailey's scent carefully.
Suddenly, Crash yelped out as her paw slid against the damp earth and she went tumbling forwards. She gave a cry as her face collided into the dirt, digging into her mouth. Crash grimaced and slowly arose to her paws, spitting out soil as she did so. Bailey, when I catch you, you are so dead! Crash vowed, pausing to rub at her face with a forepaw. The fae's scent still hung fresh in the air and Crash halted, lifting her head to smell her surroundings. Aside from the soil lodged in her nose, Bailey's scent mingled within her nose and she brought her head back down, her eyes narrowed in determination.
As she began to pad forward once more- being much more careful at this point- Bailey's scent gradually grew stronger and stronger.
