Crash heard a yowl and shock ran through her lithe body. A newfound power surged through her muscles as she suddenly shot from her spot towards the noises. True, she still needed to tend to Jet... But what if another wolf was about to die? She couldn't let any more wolves die under her watch! Crash's paws thrummed against the soaked earth as she neared the riverbed, her yellow orbs glimmering with a determined light. She burst from the shadowed trees and skidded to a halt by the river, her paws slipping on the smooth, wet stone. She gave a surprised yelp as she felt her paws slippiing out from under her and she fell slightly, dangling over the edge. The oh-so familiar waves swished below, lapping hungrily at Crash and eagerly awaited her presence. With a determined grunt, she heaved herself back up the rocks and sat there, panting with fear. Her head whipped around frantically as she tried to find where the noises were coming from.
Finally, Crash's orbs hovered over two shapes off into the distance on the other side of the riverbed. Bailey and Ember! Their pelts were slightly faded in the night sky, but inmistakable to Crash. The two were fighting alongside the river, dangerously close to the violent black waters. Crash gasped and rose to her acb legs, trying to get a better view of the rock they battled upon. In the distance, she could just see the rock teetering precariousely against the cliff. It's going to fall! Crash thought, her orbs widening in horror.
"Bailey! Ember!" she shrieked over the cascading storm, her voice somewhat muffled by the cargo she carried. She began to cautiousely pick her way down the rocks, being oh-so careful not to slip into the sucking waters yet again. She paused and placed the precious herbs on a sturdy, safe rock, and continued downward. As she neared the two faes, Crash could just percieve the groan of the boulder as it began to sway under the weight of the two battling faes and the rain pounding against it. Thunder roared overhead and lightning streaked the sky menacingly, giving the two battling faes a threatening look about them. In the back of her mind, Crash knew that this battle was to the death as she neared the two faes. "Bailey, Ember! You have to stop and get off of that boulder!" she cried, her voice barely audible over the roar of the violent rain.
