Crash looked down with worry at Jet, who lay unconscious in front of her. Over the roar of rain outside, Crash could hear her heart thrumming violently in her chest. In the back of her head, she knew that if she didn't get the herbs she needed to heal Jet, then he would surely perish. But Crash didn't know if she could rely on her nose to find the herbs at night in time; especially in the rain, when the scent would most likely have been washed away. Her yellow orbs glimmered with determination as they gazed outside into the world beyond the den. I have to try. she thought, narrowing her eyes. She crept towards the den entrance and threw a brief glance over her shoulder back at Jet. "Hang on, Jet." she whispered, turning her head back around. "Hang on..."
With a growl of determination, Crash bolted out of the den and raced out into the soaked world. Thunder rolled violently overhead and lightning streaked the skies, sending shivers down Crash's spine. She glanced back at the den, almost considering changing her mind and going back. No! she thought firmly, snapping out of her state of doubt. Jet needs me. Her eyes squinted against the rain that pounded violently against them, and she blinked vigorously against the cold liquid that slapped against her pelt. Quickly, Crash plunged into the undergrowth and and trotted onward, blind as a bat. The rain was not as bad in the woodland, for the trees overhead gave her some kind of shelter. However, it still did not stop the liquid from running down completely. As Crash blundered blindly onward, she yelped as her back leg slipped against the cold, wet mud. With a cry, she was sent tumbling forward and landed face-first in the wet earth. Grimacing, Crash lifted her head and spat out the mud, shaking her head. "Just keep going." she whispered, arising once again to her paws and trotting onward. "Just keep going..."
Through the rain, Crash could just make out the moon silhouetted against the night sky. It was yellow, and gave a thin light that gave Crash some sort of vision. Ahead, Crash could make out the shadows of a small cluster of pine trees and she narrowed her orbs, trotting towards it. After a heartbeat or two, she could distantely pick up the sound of water violently slapping against the rocks. Her orbs widened with excitement as she practically raced towards the noise, being oh-so careful not to bump into any trees or rocks. The lake! she thought as she suddenly noticed the trees growing thinner and thinner around her. The ground, once once cool and squishy, was now hard and damp as her pads grazed against smooth, wet stone. Crash gazed ahead and her heart leapt for joy as she found herself gazing at the lake, it's waves rippling as the rain splashed atop them. Crash narrowed her orbs and looked around, trying to find the cowebs. There! she thought as her eyes slid over the plants, right by the edge of the lake. They were growing in a wedge between the rocks; not too far of a distance away. Crash carefully picked her way down the rocks, determined not to slip and plunge into the black waters below. Finally, Crash was face-to-face with the plants Jet oh-so desperately needed. Bending down, Crash sank her teeth into the roots of the plants and tugged violently, her eyes narrowed. The waves lapped hungrily at her back legs and threatened to swallow her, but she would have none of it. The plants were rooted in deep, and were rather difficult to come out. Growling, Crash gave a violent tug and the cowebs ripped out of their roots, clamped in the fae's jaws. However, the rocks she stood upon began to groan and teeter slightly, dragging Crash down into the waters. She tried to leap to the safety of a nearby secure rock, but it was too late. The rock crashed into the water, sending Crash plunging into the violent swirling currents below.~
