"But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
and that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
and I feel so rough"

"No you didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
and then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody
that I used to know"

The way the boy had calmly taunted the demon and had gotten it to launch itself at him made Kyra even more interested. Though she had to blink constantly to clear the dizzy haze out of her eyes she watched, the demon letting out another shriek that made her eardrums want to burst as it was sliced through the stomach. More of the gold substance splattered the sidewalk and Kyra flinched as the boy drove the blade through the demon's lower jaw. With that it fell onto the sidewalk and made a sickening chortling noises, twitching in random spasms as the gold liquid pooled around it's torn up body. Wincing inwardly she watched incredulously as it's body seemed to incinerated to nothing, leaving just the two humans there. But the way the boy had grabbed the weapons from his belt told her he wasn't human.
When he approached her she went to open her jaw, millions of questions bouncing around in her clouded head, but she decided not to. The pain ebbing through her body was getting to be too much and she was sure she saw small black dots floating around in her vision. By past experiences she knew that was a sign of her brain starting to stop functioning due to blood loss. That, Kyra also knew, was not good at all. Not even close. She was still on edge, the adrenaline was wearing off and that was when she noticed how much pain she was in and how ruined her clothing was.
She was an absolute mess.
Her clothing was torn in various places and her bare skin was torn by the demon's three rows of jagged teeth. But the worst pain of all was her shoulder, blood making the clothing around the flesh a dark red, nearly black if you looked hard enough. Of course her ankle hurt too, but she could still stand and that was one of the positive things that had happened out of the situation, she was still alive. Kyra's eyes flicked up to the rather dashing boy, she needed to trust him here, he probably knew what that monster was and could help her. Hesitantly approaching the boy she studied him with her stormed eyes. He looked like someone who you should never mess with, his voice said it all.
