Sophia sighed irritably as she began unpacking her bags. She had only arrived a few minutes ago and was wondering how she had gotten into all of this. This whole thing was stupid to her. She had never planned on getting married. Ever. She would have been perfectly fine as a spinster. Okay...maybe not, since women weren't allowed to own property. All they were considered good for was house work and bearing children. Raising them as well. As if they weren't capable of doing their own work and managing their own property. They were the equivalent to property when you thought about it. So many damn expecatations.
A woman must not be intelligent, for it was considered unattractive. Well, what a shame. Sophia had, of course, gone against what her grandfather was trying to teach her about being a "proper young lady" to be "marriage material" and had spent every chance she got reading.
If a woman is over the age of sixteen, she is required to wear her hair up in a bun. How stupid of a rule was that? Sophia enjoyed wearing her hair loose. She simply thought it just looked better that way, instead of in a tight bun. What difference did it make anyways?
And their behavior? They were supposed to act fragile and they had to be "delicate flowers" as her governess had told her. Stupid, stupid, stupid! She could take care of herself. She was an independent and strong lady who didn't want or need anyone's help, unless she wanted it.
Letting out another sound of frustration, Sophia sat down on the edge of the bed. Sophia Elizabeth Robinson, she thought to herself, frowning at the name. It was so foreign. She was used to Sophia Elizabeth Wright, not Sophia Elizabeth Robinson. Sighing, Sophia sat there, staring straight ahead of her, at nothing in particular, her hands folded in her lap. She didn't know Lighter at all, hadn't even had the chance to court him. Why had her grandfather just...married her off like that? Perhaps because he had the feeling that she would find every possible way to get whoever it was courting her to not propose. Which, of course, her being her, she would've done. Having thought this, Sophia snorted lightly. Already, she was planning on ways to get this man to leave her. This man who she had only met on the day of their marriage. After all, it was in his power to divorce her. Her grandfather could do nothing about it, considering he wasn't here to watch her every move.
Having had this thought, Sophia smiled to herself, pleased, before she stood up. It would do her some good to explore her new home and perhaps find where her...her husband was. Sighing, she started with the living room, heading in that direction. Once she arrived, she paused, seeing Lighter and his-their?-Golden sitting there. There, she stood, awkwardly, not entirely sure on how to make her presence known.
((I had to read it xD meh. This is horrible. 3;))
