Kage found himself a spot under a large rock that jutted from the side of the mountain. He sat down with a low whimper, licking his injury.

Maggie was done cleaning herself so she let out a slow long howl

Kage heard the howl and wanted to howl back, but knowing it was Maggie that was howling, he kept quiet and continued cleaning his wound. It was hurting worse now than ever because of walking on it but he had to get away. He didn't want to cause Maggie any more unneeded pain.

Maggie did not hear a call back and she laid down with one last howl and then walked past kage and head south to her pack

Kage remained still, watching her go by. He would let her go, knowing she was going home. It was better for her. At least they would take care of her and keep her safe from him.

Maggie looked back and ran to him hugging him "no I can't leave!" she yelld

Kage was still and silent for a moment and rested a paw over her back. "Why? I do nothing but bring you pain and agony. There is someone better out there for you that would take better care of you than I ever could," He said softly as he stared over her shoulder into the snow.

"I feel in love with you had a family and I want to stay with you even if you kill me! I may snap at you but it is the pain!" she said still hugging him

Kage was unsure for a moment but he loved her as well so he didn't move or say no. He sighed lightly and nuzzled her a little, being careful of any wounds she might have. "I'm sorry for everything. I really do want us to work things out. From now on, I promise that I will not do anything that may hurt you. I will do everything in my power from here on out to keep you safe. As soon as the snow stops, we will find a den and we it will be one that will not hurt us. I'll dig a den with my own paws until they bleed if I have to to ensure it's safe," He said.

Maggie looked up and licked him then pushed him over carefully
