Charles looked at the girl and raised an eyebrow as she jumped. Did she have to look so skittish? She seriously looked like she might cry if held up much longer. He just hoped they could be married and then never speak of it again. He truly wouldn't care if she went off and found someone. True, children were likely to be expected of the pair, but he had no intention of staying loyal. Why should he? He never even got the chance to look at any woman he might want to be with. He was sure if they had one child together, as long as it was a boy, then they would be fine doing other things.

He glanced at her and raised an eyebrow at her joke, seeing how nervous she was made him smirk in amusement. He rolled his eyes a bit as he waited to be married, wondering when the marriage would actually commence. He wanted to get it over with. He just needed to get it over with so he could go along with his normal life.

¤|¤|¤ Cyd ¤|¤|¤

Cyd held back the snarl that was so certainly bound to erupt from her throat. She could tell that her father was already gone, and knew it was only to make sure she couldn't get back home. Home... Such a lose term for her. She may have hated James, but she needed him right now. If only to keep her away from her father. Because surely after this last time, he'd kill her if she was sent home again. "All I want from you is to get my clothes from my fathers house. After that I care very little about what or whom you do." She just knew that it wasn't going to be her. She realized that this wouldn't be an easy marriage, and that they truly did hate reach other. Their only hope of having a peaceful home was to just leave each other be as much as possible, though she doubted that it would happen. Jamie wasn't the type to leave someone alone, he wanted the control.

¿? Maveryk ¿?

Maveryk let out a pathetic cry as his parents grabbed an arm each and pulled him to a stop. It was the first time in nearly two days that they'd been able to get him to stay still for longer than a moment. He was in complete and utter meltdown mode. Today was the day. Not any other day, but THE day! He was... Today he was... He was getting... MARRIED! He couldn't believe it! He was so excited and so scared and so nervous and so overwhelmed! He was completely and utterly losing his mind. He'd already had his suit changed more times than he could possibly count!

Unlike most others though he had very loving parents, and didn't see marriage as something entirely horrible. He hated that he couldn't know his bride beforehand, but that was just how it went. His issue came in when physical intimacy was concerned. He loved to snuggle o have general contact, but anything farther than that was just beyond him. He didn't have one set thing that he was in charge of. He had more than one set of parts to look out for, and neither one was going away. He was nearly in tears at the thought for the past few months, knowing that his wife to be was either going to be so ignorant that she'd think it was normal, or she'd know that he was horribly deformed and condemn him to hell for it.

He was ever so thankful for his parents though. They had been his rock, his entire support system throughout his life. He buried his face in his mothers chest and clung to her as it all hit him. His fathers arms wrapped around them both and they stayed like that for a long, long time. Maveryks nerves had him on edge and entirely shaking. He always did this before social gatherings though, and this was the most stressful one yet. He was never entirely sure how he was supposed to conduct himself, and when he got nervous he'd spazz out entirely and then run and hide. He was trembling by the time his parents finally pulled away from the hug.

He didn't want to leave home. He was just a kid. He opened his mouth to protest but his mothers fingers lightly pressed against his lips, hushing him. "Mavy, sweetheart, you're going to be okay. I'm sure that you'll be a wonderful husband." He whined lightly and his fathers reassuring hand on his shoulder kept him from breaking down again. "Son, listen to your mother. Everything will be alright. You've grown up into a fine young man." He wasn't quite used to his fathers direct approval, and it certainly caught him off guard. He'd never outright disapproved of him before, but still. He leaned into his dad and hugged him tight as he could, like he used to do when he was just a small boy. He knew he had to make them proud today, for all that they had done for him, this was the least he could do. He sniffed back his tears and wiped off his face, trying to be as brave as he could.

The trip to the carriage was hard enough due to him all but being dragged into it, but the ride was short, or should have been. There was a heard of sheep caught in the road. He was antsy already but now they were being delayed. He may have stalled, but he didn't want to get there late! This day was not going as planned. He was completely sleep deprived and nothing at all was going as planned. The world might as well have been ending! They arrived late than intended, but not to late for the actual ceremony. He and his parents rushed inside quickly, but quietly. And as he hears his name matched with a Lady Jason Cornell his heart skipped in his chest. Who was she? What was she like? Would she like him? Everything in his head went insane, and his father had to lead him up to stand next to her.

His mouth literally hung open at the sight of her. She was so... Unique. He jumped as he felt his fathers fingers push his jaw up to shut his mouth. He hadn't even realized he had done that. He blushed a deep crimson and shooed his dad away to go comfort his sobbing mother. He turned back to Jason, and grinned. She was SO pretty. She had the shortest hair he'd ever seen on a woman, and it struck him as perfectly fitting for her. She seemed kind almost, but certainly not submissive. She wasn't outwardly cruel though, and he was very glad for that. "I'm... I'm Maveryk, Miss Jason... And I'd love to be your husband..." He nodded a bit and held his hand out to her, hoping she'd be willing to take him as a husband. Somewhere deep down, he knew that neither of them had the choice to turn it down, but he hated to think of that.

Allister Dalton Carlisle

Allister was in fact looking anywhere but the woman’s chest. Not only was it inappropriate – and Allister was an appropriate man – but he never once remembered staring at a lady’s bosom, as it was just not something that interested him. He wondered if women secretly wanted men to stare at them, even though they always seemed so angry when they caught someone ogling. Allister always liked it when he caught cute boys staring at him, especially that particular stable boy who now worked for someone else. Maybe it would help his situation if he pretended Chennowith were a man. His teal eyes slid over the woman again. No, that wouldn’t work, not in that poor excuse for a dress.

”I’m twenty,” he answered off-handedly. ”A bit old for marriage, I suppose.” In truth, the matchmakers had a difficult time with him, just as his parents had a difficult time with him. This betrothal was practically a last resort, something his parents agreed to finally just settle on. His “disorder” had gotten worse the older he got, and his parents wanted to cure him of it as soon as possible.

Cнarlєs Cαмєяоη нєℓмƨ

His eyes noticeably narrowed a fraction as he heard the name Charles leave her lips. He never liked it when anybody called him that, but will let it go this time since they didn't. Judging from the look on her face, it was obvious that this girl didn't want to be here either. He doubted any of the nobles did. They didn't necessarily have to be the best of friends, they just have to act civil with each other. At least that's good enough for Cameron's parents. It would get them off his back and, only for that reason, he was grateful. His mom and dad were both facing the same thing as he was many years back. They ended up having a pretty good life together with three kids, even if they clearly didn't love each other. That brought him to the thought of having children with him. He knew that he had to do it in the future, but Cameron just couldn't picture himself raising a family with someone he barely even know. Cameron glanced at the priest who will marry them before returning his eyes to Stephanie. "Yes, but I go by Cameron." He said.

Stephanie began to think about the life she would have to spend with the man standing besides her that she did not even know. Would they even grow to like each other? Or would they forever hate each other? Stephanie's parents were in the same situation, and they never grew to like one another. They were constantly fighting, which always ended up with her Mother giving in, becoming submissive. That was not Steph, though. She was never one to give in. Soon, he would learn that. She could be one's best friend, or their worst enemy. It all depended on how you looked at it, and how they treated her. Never could she put up with a man that would hit a lady. Before he could even think about it, he would be dead. Stephanie was not someone to joke around with, ever. You would be stupid to fight with her. She sighed again, knowing what would be expected of her. Stephanie knew that she would have to bear that man children, and that was not something she would enjoy. If it was someone she truly did love, that would not be an issue at all. But, she did not love this man, she didn't even know him. "My apologizes." Steph whispered, looking forward. She did mean that, it was one of her rare apologizes. As mean as she could get, she never liked to start off a possible friendship, or relationship in this case, on a bad foot.

Chennowith Rose Leon || Seventeen || Straight || Kess

Chennowith raised her eyebrows when he told her how old he was. Twenty? The matchmakers had arranged her to be with someone three years older than her? They have their reasons. Somehow we must be compatable...right? She sighed wearily. Were they ever going to get on with the ceremony? The faster it was over, the better about the marriage she would feel.

She glanced at her betrothed and wondered if he wanted children. Was he a father type? Or would he shrink away from the thought of even, er, making the baby? She lost herself in the thoughts.

Father Matthew stood at the altar surveying the group for a long while before calling for their attention. Without an intro or anything, he suddenly launched into words that, excusing language and location, had had the same meaning for time out of mind. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the joining of these young couples in holy matrimony. Though our times and culture degrade the value of marriage-" here he added a venomous glare first at Cyd, then at Jason "- we must remember that it is a holy union, blessed by God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."
He proceded to go through the vows, individually hand fasting each couple and reminding them to stay faithful to one another. Coming to Chennowith, he added a little something about modesty into his speech to her, looking disdainfully but hungrily at the front of her dress before moving on. When he arrived in front of Jason, he squeezed her hand extra hard before moving to the next couple, and on down the line to Cyd. When he came to her, he seemed to grow a foot, his face thunderous as he gripped her shoulder tight. He had seen the girl far too many times, and watched her mess up a potential marriage far too many times, to meet her with indifference. "LIsten girl," he hissed in her ear as he opened his holy book to another page. "I will not see you here again. If I hear so much as a whisper about your infidelity, or that you are not being a proper, humble, servicing wife to this young gentleman, I will personally see that you have some private... instruction... from me." With that, he finished the ceremony with James and Cyd, saying the final blessing over all of them, telling the men to "kiss their brides and take them home" before quickly disappearing into the rectory.

Waves of stoic anonymity washed across Jason's line less face, her eyes narrowing at the snooty looking male that had given her a most hideous glare, as if he wished with all his being that the two girls who had just kissed would vanish into thin air. Normally, this wouldn't bother her as much as it did from this arrogant boy. She had heard her father and mother talking in hushed whispers a while back of the noble man boy who had been fooling with something of either a stable hand or commoner boy; she didn't care to remember, but in her mind it was only fair for people of other orientations to stick up for one another. She hadn't chosen to defy this sanctuary {but wasn't about to admit she hadn't enjoyed it} but Jason could tell he wasn't trying to vaporize her with steel blue eyes for going askew on the holy law of God. Rolling her eyes and pushing hard against his shoulder while she shoved past him to the end of the hushed line, she noticed that her side was unoccupied. The old matchmaker shambling off was not going to repeat herself, that much was apparent, but everyone seemed to know what they were doing and it wasn't including Jason. Her face reddened in embarrassment and anxiety, was she unsuitable for a match today? Would she wait another year to be put back into the raffle? The questions faltered with a groan of the huge wooden doors, two manservants scurrying to the door to help pull it open while a very androgynous young man (or so Jason had to assume) arrived. He had a very fine porcelain complexion, a very rowdy and statement enforcing hairstyle, two friendly and docile parents trailing behind him closely. Jason's heart fluttered against her ribs in anticipation, she didn't know if she could love him as much as she wanted, but a pulse of maternal instinct made her want to run and scoop the slightly baby-faced, attractive male up and read him fairy tales and assortments of folklore by a warm fire swathed in the caramel and white fur of one of Jasons large Saint Bernard dogs.

The boy barely reached her side and had time to introduce himself before the scrawny priest ambled down from his current position to speak the opening vows, shifting on down the line from couple to couple, and Jason's gaze followed in steadily spiking distrust that climaxed against the priests ample state at Chennowiths well-equipped chest. This priest wasn't as holy as he'd like to think, Jason noted, squeezing Lord maveryk's cool hand just as forcefully as the perverse minded priest, avoiding his state as log as she could. He'd also awarded Cyd and Jason nasty glance for their fiasco earlier and he was forced to ponder if anyone would let it go. Finally, though, the priest had left with blunt instructions for them to allow their new husbands to kiss their freshly wed brides, which made Jason blink, but in acceptance more than anything. She smiled warmly at the cute boy, curtsying slightly and speaking rapidly before he kissed her. "I am lady Jason Rachel Cornell, and I have to admit that I would sincerely love to be your wife."
