Annie looked up at his with complete terror when he raised his hand to hit her.She crumpled to the floor her face stinging.She screamed as he dragged her into the bedroom,in serious pain after the kick.Turning over on to her back,she look up at Max once he stopped in his bedroom,her eyes wider than they had ever been with fear.

"Don't do that again. Don't you even speak unless I speak to you first, got it?" Max growled, leaning down and getting right in her face. His parents were a very touchy subject for him and it always made him angry. His parents were abusive and hated him and he was becoming exactly like them but he didn't want to believe it.

Annie nodded,curling up in a ball.She would have preferred the no food for a day option but didn't complain or say anything else.The only she wanted now was for him to leave her in the room on her own.

Max got off of her and left the room, locking the door behind him and leaving her there, crumpled in a ball on the floor. You could tell how angry he was just by the look in his eyes. But it wasn't all just anger, it also held pain. He headed into the kitchen wordlessly, grabbed a beer, and sat back down in his chair, opening the beer up and beginning to drink it down.

Annie crawled over to corner of the rooms and let her tears stream down her face.She rubbed her face and side where he had slapped her and kicked her.Sighing,Annie lay her head down on the ground defeated.

Max just continued to drink, feeling himself relax. He would have offered Shannon a beer but he knew that he didn't like alcohol, almost like he was afraid of it. He just wished that their girls' they took would calm down and accept this. It wasn't like they were molesting them or anything, they just wanted to talk.

Hayley eventually just sat there, sitting still. Her eyes were still wet and her cheeks had streaks running down them. She had her head bowed in shame and she just sat still, remaining quiet. He body was uncomfortable and achy in this position but she couldn't move.

Shannon looked out the lone,small window that was in the main room and sighed lightly.He wished he could have a normal conversation with Hayley, but was glad that she wasn't as defiant as Annie.

Max sighed and looked over to Shannon. "I am too aggressive, aren't I? I am becoming just like my parents when I promise myself I never would. I should be in there apologizing." He said, resting his head in his hands. "What good does apologizing even do? She hates me and has every right to."

"You're not turning into your parents",Shannon said turning to look at Max.He thought about Annie crumpling to the ground and forced himself not to wince.How could Shannon wince?Hadn't he done the same to Hayley?

"Yes I am. I am getting abusive, neglective, I yell over everything. I promised myself I would treat her okay but I have already hit or hurt her three times." Max replied, running a hand through his hair. "The poor girl is probably terrified of me. We should even be blaming them for wanting to get out or hating us. We deserve it. We would be doing the same thing if we had been in their shoes."
