Wolves of Mercy Falls

Dyr turned to face the girl. She had a similar build to Hopea, hell with her eyes they could of been sisters. ''I was merely on a walk and was curious.'' He answered in a calm voice, watching her.

''Nothing new, Just bein' my usual clutzy self'' Hopea said, grinning innocently as she watched the two, nudging Bone's side with her vans.

Amber's eyes narrowed. "You didn't have to come here. Now I'll have to move." A breeze whisked through the trees, and Amber sensed a storm coming. "Leave." She said, turning away. Her eyes flashed with excitement. Storms meant cold, and cold meant shifting.

Zane shook his head in exasperation. "Jeez. You need to be careful." He laughed as Bone woofed and darted around his friend in circles.

''Umm,okay but, watch out, there's a couple of wolves out here, usually easy to see, they both got green eyes'' Dyr warned the girl, deciding she was not happy.He turned and started back towards the house. ''God I hope Hopea stayed home'' He grumbled.

Hopea smiled innocently once. ''sorry just not in the nature-'' She said laughter cut short as she felt the wind pick up. The hair on the back off her neck rose and she knew a storm was coming.

Amber grinned as he walked away, eyes sparkling. She looked into the trees. She had a low tolerance for cold, and tended to shift easily. She could already feel her bones ache at the cold.

Zane raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong? You okay?"

Dyr glanced over his shoulder, a bit worried about the girl. He'd seen the weather stating there'd be a storm soon,which wasn't uncommon this late into summer.

''I-I'm fine''Hopea said, pushing off the wall lightly. ''I gotta go, I forgot to tell Dyr I'd be leaving'' She lied quickly, wrapping her arms around herself,hoping to fight off the cold long enough to make it to the woods.

Amber trembled for a moment, then darted into the trees. She felt her form shift and was soon running on four paws. She tilted her head and howled, hoping her white furred friend was near.

Zane watched her leave. "Okay." He said, watching her run off. "Let's go inside." He said, turning back to Bone and patting his head.

Hopea threw an apologetic look over her shoulder before making a bee line to the woods. She heard the howl and smiled, knowing it was Amber. She barely made it to the woods before hitting the ground on paws and wiggling free of her clothes and messenger bag. Her ears perked as the howl began the fade and tipped her own head back over her shoulders and howled. She stood frozen as she waited for a response on the edge of the woods.

Dyr froze hearing the howl and then whipped around as a second one responded. One was near where the girl had been and the other was between him and his house. ''Crap'' He whispered,staying still.

Amber barked sharply in excitement. She trotted towards her friend, howling again. Then she froze, nearly ten feet from a human. Her own strange, non wolfish, green eyes watched curiously as the human seemed nervous. She tilted her head, woofed softly, then tilted it to the other side.

Zane grabbed Bone's collar, as the dog refused to come inside. "No way are you staying out. You'll roll in the mud. Come on, I'll give you a treat and your ball." He bribed, knowing that the dog knew the two words.

Dyr stood still looking at the wolf, his dark brown eyes locked on the wolf's green ones. This was the closest he'd ever seen the wolf and it seemed friendly enough. He took a cautious step forward.

Hopea tipped her head back howling again and letting it fade of into several yip and barks before prancing towards the howls of her dark friend.

Amber curled a lip to reveal sharp canines, then tilted her head back to howl again. The howl soared from a low pitched note to so high, no human could hear it. She stopped and grinned at the human. Her human eyes gazed with intelligence and she woofed softly.
