Plot:

Just when we thought we knew everythoing there was to know, and understood everything there was to understand, we were proved to be dangerously wrong. The fairy tales and legends got tired of being just horror stories, and the myths have been revealed to be true... vampires DO exist... and they are now the masters of the human race. The humans formed feeble resistances, but all were slaughtered, scattered, or enslaved. Now there may be no hope for human kind, but no species was born without the instinct of survival. That is all they can do now. Try to survive, under the cruel lash of their vampire masters. We humans aren't the top of the food chain anymore.

Vampires:

There are two types of vampires; 'born' and 'made' ones.
Born vampires are the offspring of two other made vampires. They can have children of their own, but only with their own kind, not with humans or created vampires.
Made vamps cannot have children, but can create more of their own kind by a blood exchange with a human. However, this is usually illegal in most cases because the humans are needed as slaves, and as a food supply.

Humans:

Trying to survive, they are the slaves of their vampire masters. They have one choice left: give in, or be defiant.

Personality:
Sam has split personalities really, the person he can be and the person he really is. At times he can be pretty rude and harsh over things, not caring if he is in the wrong and the other person is in the right, he can and will make them agree with him uncaring of what they think. He also can be pretty sadistic at times, he does have a slight part of nature in him like that though that isn't shown to much unless he is in a really foul mood. His other side, the side that mainly is him can be pretty caring and nice though he tries his best to ignore this side and just get on with things, uncaring about others around him. He knows what he wants in life and most of the time how to get it.

In the middle really, bit of both at times.

Ellie is quite stubborn, sometimes to stubborn for her own good not that she really cares, she has a spirit that is hard to break, almost impossible even and has a quick temper. Throughout her life she had always been the youngest out of her 4 brothers and 2 sisters so had to fight to actually get heard and to actually get any food. She doesn't take things lightly and sometimes she will forget about any consequences her actions and words may have.

Personality: Zane can be harsh, and is quick to get angry. Though normally pretty kind, for a vampire, he also has a very hot temper. If slaves disobay him or insult him openly, they tend to regret it. Zane is also a bit of a romantic, and he thinks what really matters in a girl is their spirit- not necessarily their looks. He can be a bit of a joker, and have a lot of fun with life. Just watch out for his aforementioned temper!

Though she is mild at first, Dawn can be very sarcastic, which brings her both close friends and violent enemies. Mostly enemies. She doesn't like to give in, but is smart enough to know when she has to. She is a little crazy, athletic and wild, and she loves to swim, and run. Dawn has a soft name, but a vibrant personality.

Dawn leaned against the bars, sighing, as she watched yet another vampire walk out with a slave she knew. Watching through half- closed eyes, she curled up on the cold stone floor, trying to get comfortable. It was nearly impossible- the floor was uneven and hard, and the cage not big enought to stretch out in- but she finally managed to get to sleep. The exhaustion helped, she supposed, wondering if a vampire would take her as she slept.

Zane walked through the town gracefully, going to the shops. He had decided that it was time to get a slave, for comfort and to do his work, but mostly so he would no longer need to hunt for blood. He thought of having blood with him at all times, as much as he wanted, and smiled, speeding up. He made his way to a square where there were a few slave shops- some with actual slaves, some with whips and handcuffs and the like- and pulled out his set of 'cuffs, stroking them before replacing them in his pocket. Chuckling quietly, he continued on to the closest slave shop.

Ellie huffed grumpily, her back to everyone as she looked at the bars of the cage in front of her, of course she was still getting over the two hours it had actually taken them to get her in here, after all who would want to be stuck in a cage? Not her that was for sure, it was boring, way to boring. With a small sigh she leaned against the bars, closing her eyes and just listening to the world around her, after all she was just waiting, waiting for the second this cage door was open so she could make a run for it, slave..her? No way, those two words just didn't mix and never should. She was a person not a slave and never would be. Ever.

Looking down at the pavement as he walked Sam muttered something to himself before looking up at the building that was fast approaching, of course it had been a complete accident, complete one that his previous slave had died, after all if they hadn't of struggled so much then he wouldn't of kept drinking from them. Oh well what's done is done, just hopefully this next slave might not go the same way, after all it wasn't exactly one of the most painless ways to go, in fact it was a pretty painful way to die he thought by the amount of screams and cries she had given just before her lifeless body had slumped on the floor, her lifeless eyes staring back up at him with nothing in them but fear and pain, oh that really had been a sight he didn't mind seeing now and then that was for sure. As he paused outside the building for a second, looking around outside quickly before walking in.

Dawn woke up slowly, wondering whether it might be better to finally get a master. She had been in the cage for a few months so far, and was afraid she wouldn't be able to wallk when she finally DID get out. If she didn't die here. Vampires tended to pass over her, a slave covered in dirt and thin enough that you could see the shadow of her ribs, with bruises on her face from the shopowner. At first, she had rebelled at everything, but she had realized it didn't matter. It just gave the shopowner an excuse to hurt her. Still, she spoke out when she thought it was necessary. Sighing again, she opened her eyes, looking around at the new collection of vampires.

Zane paused for a moment at the door, studying the sign, then opened it carefully. It swung open smoothly, and he stepped in, suprised at the contrast from the sun and fresh air. It smelled of stale sweat in the shop, with a tinge of old blood and gruel. He shuddered, imagining what it would taste like, then looked around. The shop was shadowed, except for the bright light under which stood the desk, with the shopkeeper sitting on a chair behind it, waiting for a customer. It was the only part of the room that was clean; the shadowed part was dirty and dusty, with an occasional bloodstain. He looked at the few slaves huddled in their cages, and walked up to an irritated- looking female. She was not too skinny, so she must not have been there that long, but there were shadows under her eyes that indicated the lack of a good night's sleep. He sighed, kneeling to her level, "...and what's your name?" he asked carefully.

Hearing someone get closer to her Ellie opened her eye's making sure she could see if anything or anyone tried to stick their hands through the bars, really in a way she was sort of like a caged animal, a tiger at that if anyone was stupid enough to stick their hand through the bars then she probably would of bitten it, literally so it was all for the best that most vampire avoided her, probably sensing she was more trouble then she was actually worth which would of been about right for her. Glancing over her shoulder Ellie didn't bother to turn around to face the person who spoke, she wasn't interested "My name.. you want to know my name?" she muttered before speaking again "My name is a mixture of words, those words of which you won't find out if you want me to say anything it would be mind your own business and stop being so nosy" her voice nearing a growl as she spoke the second time, just showing how rude she could and would be to anyone who even dared or bothered to talk to her, it was her attempt of pushing people away and keeping them away from her for good as well.

As Sam walked into the shop, seeing how..well dirty and just run down it was, well most of it was anyway apart from a small section and that of course was the owner, the rest of it well...by the looks of it had seen better days and that was putting it nicely. Slowly he walked around, looking at a few people but none really catching his eye that much, there were the few who sat quietly in a corner, shaking in their skin and he really didn't want someone like that, someone who was so jumpy all the times they dropped things then quickly mumbled a sorry before cleaning it up, just for it to all happen again a few days later. No way. He wanted someone who had slight spirit but yet also someone who would also do as they were told. Seeing a girl looking around he walked over to where she was, saying nothing to her though as he looked her over much like someone would look over a item of clothing or something similar. "State your name" he said simply, his tone of voice emotionless along with his face.
