Ember struggled out the truck and shook himself down.

"Alright, let's go, we're almost late." Bill hurried inside.

"Fine, you got me there. But they were also a lot smaller then~" Christopher smirked.

Friesia stopped as the pencil she was supposed to be transforming into a worm formed a little figure of Ember instead. Her vision blurred as tears filled her eyes. She shook her head vigorously and changed it back into a pencil.

Ember plodded along and followed him inside.

Cat smirked and walked away.

Dain was still asleep, he had started to look more like a human and less like a skeleton...

Bill clocked in and got the pound ready for the day. "We are open for business," he said with a smile.

Christopher sighed and waited impatiently for the kittens to get up so he could get himself something to eat.

Friesia put her things away. "I think I can be done for today..." She left the library and relaxed in the living room, smiling for just a second as she looked at Dain. He looks... alive. A bit ironic, but he actually looks like a living person now...

Ember laid in his spot behind the desk and got ready for the day ahead.

Bill sat in his swivel chair and spun in it a bit, waiting for someone to come in.

Christopher's stomach growled. "I know, I know..." he muttered.

Friesia twitched her ears, she was trying to take her mind off things, but somehow that just made her think about them even more...

Dain yawned and woke up groggily.

Ember fell asleep quickly.

Bill chuckled at Ember. "Oh, you lazy thing," he said affectionately.

Friesia was too deep in thought to notice Dain.

Ember felt glad he was lazy...there was such a strain on his back and legs that he didn't really want to move at all...

Dain saw she was still upset and went to make himself a coffee.

It was a slow day at the pound, not many people came in.

Friesia finally came back to the real world and saw that Dain was gone, but smelled coffee and realized where he was.
