Lilly ran up to the window. "Mommy! Daddy! Jaxie's back!" She ran out the door before her mother could stop her. She ran over to Ember and threw her arms around him. "Jaxie! I missed you!"

Her father ran out and pulled her away from Ember, kicking him hard. He dragged her back inside and called the pound before Ember could even react.
