Eaglespirit shrunk a little. She blinked, feeling the urge to look down, but she kept her gaze locked on Snakestar's. "I was following her because I felt something was wrong. I didn't have the time to scent that we were in SeaClan. I was too busy fighting off three massive SeaClan cats." And when she says massive, she means huge by no means.

Hawkpaw got the herbs anyways, and came and rested by Rosesong. Hoping she could hear him, he muttered, "Thank you for coming with me to get berries today. It meant a lot ..." He blinked back the feeling in his throat.

Echotalon came to give her a goodbye. He sat by her side and licked her ear.

Egyptian Mau raised her butt into the air defensively, snarling and giving a ragged hiss.

Venomslash sighed. "BREAK IT UP."

[dizzy hurricane.]

Snakestar felt some odd lump in his throat and he ignored his deputy for the moment. He buried his nose in Rosesong's fur.

Eclipsesun stepped away. She had barely known this cat. She needed to give Rosesong's immediate friends time alone.

Rainshadow watched a couple cats gather around Rosesong.

Amberlily sighed. "It's sad."

Rosesong, vainly, lifted her head and licked Hawkpaw's shoulder. Then she was gone, her heart stopped.

Cedarflame rolled his eyes and tried to smooth down his fur.

Eaglespirit dashed away, into the brush, but not before giving Snakestar a horribly low of raw guilt. She hoped someone followed her, but yet, she didn't. She took off into the tall grass, and hid herself. She put her paws over her eyes and her chest heaved, her breaths fast with guilt and sorrow.

Hawkpaw watched, with horrified eyes. "Rosesong!" he murmured and nestled into her side, as if he were to be a kit again. Not that she was his mother, but ... He felt terrible.

Echotalon sat down, pity in his eyes.

I dunno. The rest I didn't include are unknowing of what just happened. Especially my lovley, obbliviovus representation-of-me Mudpelt.

I updated the front page about Rosesong's death. D:

Snakestar scooted close to Hawkpaw, seeking comfort. And, he supposed,the young apprentice probably wanted some comfort, too. He licked his warrior's fur a few times and then stood up rigidly. He stood below his tree branch, instead of climbing it. He didn't think his limbs would hold him up. He called hoarsely, "Please come for a Clan meeting." It wasn't his customary call, but it would do.

"Are you okay?" Eaglespirit hadn't seen Eclipsesun following her, but now she was there. She laid across from her, her eyes wide with worry.

Cedarflame knelt next to Rosesong, licked behind her ears, and then sat up for the meeting.

Dewpaw came into the clearing.

Icepaw woke with a yawn and came out into the clearing.

Coalbreeze went into the clearing.

Eaglespirit didn't come. She wouldn't come. She was too ashamed to show her face.

Hawkpaw nodded and came after Snakestar. He sat close to him, whishing he could console his leader.

Echotalon sat at the base, near Snakestar.

EGYPTIE MAU grimaced and sat up straight from her crouch and held her head up high.

Venomslash rolled his eyes at the she-cat.

Larkflight came.

Mudpelt came. [I made her after me xD]

Leopardclaw slunk out.

Pebblepaw came.

Silverstreak woke up and came slowly.

[dizzy hurricane.]

Snakestar began as soon as all the cats were gathered. He knew that Eaglespirit was somewhere in the forest, pained by his own words, and that Eclipsesun had gone to console her. He wasn't worried about the two of them. "I believe we have two things to attend to today. The first is Rosesong's death. She died shortly after a battle with SeaClan warriors; Eaglespirit was wounded in the same battle. Both of them fought like warriors from LeopardClan. [The ancient Clan of leopards whose blood runs through the cats' in the clearing] We will honor Rosesong forever."

Eclipsesun sighed, but didn't let Eaglespirit hear. "Please?"

Rainshadow's eyes lowered.

Amberlily was in shock. Rosesong had been her best friend. [She hadn't known what happened when it happened] She gave a yowl and ran to her friend's body, laying beside her and licking her fur.

Eaglespirit looked up. "I couldn't save her," she said through a voice as light as the breeze that rustled the grasses. She back up hurriedly, and then resumed covering her face with her paws.

Hawkpaw nodded slowly, thinking about how brave Rosesong was. But ...

Echotalon thought the same thing, but didn't say anything.

Egyptian May yawned involuntarily.

Venomslash sighed. "Why were they fighting SeaClan?"

Larkflight added, "Were they in there or should we be worried that they are trying to attack our camp?"

Mudpelt sighed and looked toward the Medicine Cat den.

Leopardclaw didn't give a mouse's dung. He was only in the Clan so he could have shelter in a formidable place like this.

Pebblepaw looked horrified, her bright fur bristling a little.

Silverstreak only saddened.

[dizzy hurricane.]

Snakestar's voice was raw. "Rosesong had ventured into SeaClan territory." His voice hardened and he said, "They may take revenge on us. We will watch that border constantly and we will ready our camp for battle."

Eclipsesun shook her head slowly. "Eaglespirit, this isn't your fault. She was already too bled-out when you arrived. That's not your fault, either. The cats of the Clan didn't notice her absence until too late. I hate to put this on Rosesong, but she shouldn't have trespassed in the first place ..."

Eaglespirit crept backwards still. She nodded and raced back to camp. She was the deputy. She couldn't run away. Her limp tail trailing behind her, she campt to came and took place at the base of the tree. She hung her head, and her green eyes had no shine in them. She looked pretty much dead. She didn't hear Larkflight or Venomslash.

Echotalon sighed and looked down.

Egyptian Mau stretched, getting bored. She didn't know Rosesong, and never would. Oh well, you know?

Venomslash nodded, thinking. "Maybe they will break the next Clan meeting's rules? I think we need to take our bigger cats with us to the next Gathering. And, not to mention, Eaglespirit has at least one littermate in each clan. It's obvious that she's going to have a hard time if it comes between them."

Larkflight sighed, and then looked at Venomslash cooly. "No, I think our loyal Eaglepsirit would stay loyal and kill her siblings for the Clan."

Venomslash rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say."

[dizzy hurricane.]

Snakestar gazed coolly at Larkflight and Venomslash, but his throat was burning. "We will see when the time comes," he meowed, but he had no doubt of his deputy. She would kill her siblings. "I agree with Venomslash. We should take big cats to the Gathering. It's only in a few sun-rises."

Eclipsesun had returned, too. She spoke up. "Snakestar, what if they don't come to the Gathering and, instead, attack our camp? Some of the larger cats should stay behind."

Rainshadow nodded in agreement with Eclipsesun.

Amberlily didn't notice anything. She was too busy mourning Rosesong. So what if some Clans came to attack?

Cedarflame hissed at Eclipsesun, "Why would they attack us here if they know we're going to be at the Gathering?"

Dewpaw yawned.

Icepaw gazed coldly at the newcomer.

Coalbreeze licked Silverstreak's ears.
