Dib almost felt a mild sense of empathy for the being when he saw her eyes widen. Not like he was sorry for her by any means, but it suddenly became clear to him, like some odd revelation, that she was another being too, not just 'the monster chasing him'. She was expressive, he could see she was just as curious about him as he was of her... But that was just too bad, he didn't plan on letting her see him. He was still cautious, but he relaxed mildly, leaning his chin on his arms, on the top of the tube slide, still invisible.
"That sounds worse, and painful. I don't want that!" The boy made a face as he spoke, and even though Mur wouldn't be able to see it, his distaste was clear enough in his tone. Dib stoped for just a moment as he noticed the smears of color around the alien's eyes that the gypsy lady had caused.
"Are you... wearing make-up??" Dib hadn't laughed in a while, and his tone suggested he might, this seemed very funny to him. It was a wonderful feeling, the lightheartedness.
