Of course, there was no one to challenge, or even distract the alien, though an ally dog, more of a wolf really, saw her and started barking loudly, ears going back, yellowed teeth showing as it snarled, the black fur of it's neck standing on end.
Dib heard the commotion and stopped for barely a moment to think, before heading in; slowly, cautiously. He had to be careful.
For dogs to be barking, it meant some creature was near them. If it was another human, it could mean an ally, though it was more likely that it would just mean competition for food and water, and someone who'd try to kill him in his sleep, maybe take his clothes and stuff- not to mention his amulet.
He hoped on his life it wasn't some deranged, cannibal or rap*ist, though with the world now, it was plausible.
It was also possible, that the beasts had found food. If it was something edible for humans, Dib might be able to steal some. He'd done so before... but that was also how he got those deep scars on one arm, bite marks.
Hoping for food, he crept closer, staying near walls, keeping all senses on high alert. His trench-coat was wrapped tightly around him, since if he let it loose, the bottom tails would sway with any movement and he'd be seen.
