James smiled brightly at her, pushing his dark brown hair back. When they got into town, it was empty. Like everyone ran away and hid from something. James slowed down a little as he drove down the street, looking around. "Where is everyone?", he muttered. The diner they ate at earlier, empty. Everything was empty. It was only about 4:00 p.m, so it wasn't like it was closing time. Just then, a figure popped up in front of the car, making James slam on brakes. "What the hell.", he said, getting out. He went around to the front of the car, but the figure was gone, no trace of it anywhere. There was a cold breeze flowing around, even though it was sunny out. It seemed like the clouds covered the sun, and everything turned gray. James quickly got back into the car, trying to put it back in gear. It wouldn't go, though, and the car turned off. James tried to turn the keys to turn it back in, but nothing happened. "Alright. This is..strange.", he said, getting out his phone.
