Snake Will Pay (Soulie, wolfrunner, ~Erica~)

[~Erica~]

Erica opened her mouth to reply to Cody but Sully got there first and she shut her mouth, smiling a tad bit at his compromise. She loosened her arms around Cody and sat down properly since kneeling had gotten pretty uncomfortable. She watched the two of them with a mildly amused look on her face wondering what exactly Sully planned to do.

Sully glanced over to Erica then Cody seeing him nod and took a step bringing his foot down hard.
"one.." Cody said loud enough he could hear.
Sully nodded and took another but softer.
"..Two..." Cody said already hesitant.
Sully looked up to Erica and frowned but then to Cody, clapping his hands a few times taking three steps.
"Hey..thats not fair...." He stopped knowing it was no use arguing. "..uh....f...four..." He said frowning.
"No." Sully said flatly. "Erica mind walking to a corner?" he said looking over to her.

[~Erica~]

Erica watched Sully walk around and the look of concentration Cody wore as he tried to listen to the number of steps Sully took. She had an idea of what he was doing right now with all of this. "Sure." She agreed, pushing herself graceful up from her spot on the floor. She assumed he wanted her to walk in her normal almost total silence. She tucked her hands into her pockets and moved into a different corner making very little noise as she went.

Sully smiled and nodded to her. "What direction did she go. Turn to it. If you wanna throw a dagger or touch a sword you need to know how to target your enemies. They won't tell you where they are. The won't give you time to hear a mistake in there stealth. You need to learn to get rid of the sounds that mean nothing. You need to learn to hear that..which others can't. She's the most silent person I know. Her steps took me the longest to learn. To most they aren't heard but after learning to erase the useless sounds. I can hear them from across the room."
"This isn't fair. Your making it hard so I fail!" He yelled getting angry.
"Ya I am. The world won't wait for you. You have to learn to deal with challenges and they aren't easy. I give you an easy task you'll expect them all to be just as easy. You need to learn to deal with the hard things or you won't get anywhere." he said making his way over to Erica to give him a little help, and even gave her a kiss on the cheek.

[~Erica~]

Erica stopped in the corner and crossed her arms knowing Cody didn't hear her, she hadn't tried to make it so he would. She understood what Sully was trying to teach the young boy and this would do it well. She sighed softly as Cody yelled, she could understand he felt frustrated but at the same time she didn't like yelling. Still she smiled at Sully as he came over at kissed her cheek. She wrapped an arm lightly around him still staying quiet when she normally would have made some noise.

"So, where are we? Or are you giving up?" Sully said quietly not wanting to make it easy by yelling to him.
Cody closed his eyes and listened, hearing Sully speak he turned and made his way over, knocking into a chair but only stumbled a little. "No..I'll get it. You'll see. I won't give up. I'll show you." He said and reached out grabbing him and Erica. "Gotcha." He said happily.
"Yes, after I came over and spoke. Before that, you were lost and had no idea where she was. If she was an enemy. You would have been dead before you knew there was even anyone there. Focus or sit down and wait till we get home." Sully's tone was somewhat harsh but it was mostly to get Cody to back down...or somewhat mad to not want to continue there.

[~Erica~]

Erica smiled lightly as Cody made his way over, frowning as he stumbled over a chair, but she stayed where she was. She chuckled though as Cody caught hold of her and Sully and gave the boy a hug. She liked that he wasn't going to give up, it reminded her of Sully actually. He hadn't given up either.
"Sully." Erica chided knowing his harsh tones weren't going to do anything but beat down Cody's confidence. "As I recall you had just as much trouble when you started out." She reminded him in a reproachful tone, poking him lightly. "Good job Cody, you keep working on it and maybe you'll be able to help us but I don't think you're ready to do any fighting yet okay." She told him gently.

Sully frowned and looked to Erica. He let out a sigh as flashed of him running into trees and tripping over rocks when he was learning. He to was about Cody's age and knew how difficult it was but he didn't want Cody to think that once he knew to fight that he would be running off with them like he was now. It was to dangerous. "I'm sorry..." he said replying to Erica knowing she wasn't liking his tone.
"B-...fine but can we at least continue while we are waiting to get to the capitol?" He asked not wanting to stop now.
""Erica?" Sully asked looking to her not sure if they should or shouldn't.

[~Erica~]

Erica smiled back at Sully and leaned over to kiss his cheek gently to show she want angry with him. "It's okay, I just wanted to remind you that encouragement works better than harsh words." She murmured to him before looking down at Cody thoughtfully. She shrugged after a moment. "I don't see why not, the more he can learn now the better he can stay safe if something does happen." She replied. She refused to let anything happen though, she would stay here to keep Cody safe and make sure the boy didn't get hurt.

"...I know Erica. You made that clear many years ago when helping me learn to." He said and smiled kissing her back. "ok...Next I want you to walk this whole section. Learn where everything is. You need to learn to memorize everything. You forget something you'll run into something. I know that from experience. Over time you'll just remember everything as easy as walking is. When you know this whole area and get through like you can the base, then we can continue but as long are your waking into a chair...theres no use." He said and kissed his head.
"Ok dad." he said and let them go, making his way to the wall and walking in a line down his hands in front of him, feeling everything around him.
