Haunting Melody (One on One with ShadowOfAGirl)

((Ish okay, I can't write lengthy at all times either...))

The presence's thoughts paused as it heard her walk past, then into one of the other rooms, the bathroom if it guessed correctly. Shortly it was thinking again, puzzling over what to do. Eventually it just decided that it's first idea was best, and as for what it'd do for the time being, it would do nothing, as usual. Just remain hidden, perhaps watch her a little from a distance, make sure it wasn't close enough to give her any impression of it's being there.
That shouldn't have been too hard...

((...like right now pfft, if you'd like to move on until evening when night falls you can, I don't think I'm going to have too much to write about until then ^^))

As it got darker, later, Millie found herself in the bedroom once again, after she had eaten at least anyway. She was sitting in a chair in the corner of the room reading silently, the curtains and windows in her room shut,two candles that were lit were the only things giving a light source in the room, if it hadn't been for them the room would of been in completely darkness which of course wouldn't of been helpful for reading in, though it was getting to nearly ten thirty Millie wasn't to tired, she was happily reading, something she could do at night for about a hour but not much longer because she always found her interested wandering, like now, she had been reading for nearly two hours and she was starting to get slightly bored, looking up and around the room now and then, almost like she was waiting for something to happen, which of course was silly, nothing would happen here because she was alone, ghosts and the such did not exist no matter what anyone else said anyway.

As this time had passed, the being had done as he had planned, watching her from time to time when he was able, otherwise pretty much avoiding and hiding away from wherever she went. Going through walls was handy in those sort of situations. But, now it was pacing, if possible, outside 'her' room which was actually originally it's.
HOW was it suppose to get it's violin without making the room's temperature drop a few degrees? Not to mention, even though she was reading, how was it going to get it OUT of the room without her seeing it floating through the air? It couldn't make it invisible too...
Exhaling, or making the motion that would have been equal to it, the presence walked into the room beside the one she was in. If it only poked it's head into the room, and perhaps an arm, that shouldn't cause a noticeable change.
Just as it was about to pick it up though, it stopped, and then felt like hitting itself. What would have been the point of picking it up and trying to take it through the wall? All it would do was hit it and then it'd be making noise and she'd see it floating with nothing visible holding it and probably panic.
Thus it withdrew again, before just sitting down as best as it was able, in a chair in the other room, swearing a little quietly to itself. Shortly it's form became visible, as it didn't really think hiding was necessary with her being in bed and not walking around, to reveal it was the same young man as the portrait downstairs. Just a bit more transparent. He continued to sit, in a way that at least it looked like he was, and put a hand over his eyes, trying to think. He supposed that he could just wait and play tomorrow, another whole day wouldn't make much difference to him... but oh why hadn't he thought to get it out of the room BEFORE she had gone to bed? He had had plenty of chances.

Millie frowned lightly, sighing she put the book down on the carpeted floor, standing up and going over to the wardrobe, weirdly though when she opened the door she felt a strange feeling, nothing huge though, just a small strange feeling but then that probably was to be expected after all this was her first time alone at night in her house throughout her whole life, it was only normal, right? She shrugged and grabbed her night gown out of the wardrobe, shutting it lightly before getting changed quickly, it was a shame it was so cold currently, Millie loved the summer it was much more comfortable to sleep in, according to her it was anyway, she could have the windows open with a nice breeze blowing in keeping the room cool, but right now no matter what she did the room seemed to be freezing cold, maybe it was just normal for this house to be cold? Weirdly though her old house had always been pretty warm even in the winter, she'd have to light the fire tomorrow in a attempt to warm the house up or the living room at least. As she walked over to the bed, pulling the covers back and getting in a few thoughts went around her head, mostly thoughts on what she needed to do tomorrow, cleaning, dusting also she had work to think of, after all she hadn't been allowed any time off but she hadn't expected it either, during these thoughts though she annoyingly found herself drifting off into a deep sleep.

After a few more minutes, he noticed that the little sounds from the room beside the one he was in had grown quiet, and after a few more moments, he stood and peered just enough through the wall for just a few seconds to find she was going to sleep. Hm, maybe there was still hope after all.
Disappearing from normal human vision again, he slipped silently into his old room, and though pausing to make sure her eyes were still closed, slowly picked up the violin from it's resting place, as well as the piece one used to play it's strings. Constantly glancing at the bed to make sure she didn't stir, this 'ghost' walked back out of the room, this time going through the door way however.

It must have been around midnight that a calming, beautiful, but somehow a little ghostly melody began to drift through the halls and rooms. It sounded like a lullaby in it's own right, and it was difficult not to get sleepy simply from hearing it.
It source was downstairs in the den where the fireplace was, which was now, surprisingly, lit. That was the reason for the home's being warmer than earlier that night. The being was standing by a window in said den, no longer invisible, moonlight outlining him and the instrument he played, his eyes closed in contentment.
Of course, he simply had assumed that he might not even wake her up, and if he did a little, she'd go back to sleep without much problem. Thus he did not really see any reason to be hidden. And it really was an almost magical tune after all.

Millie tossed slightly in her sleep, of course she was still asleep, fast asleep even the music most likely keeping her that way, but..the music did end up in her dream, this dream made no sense as did most dreams but...there was a person, of whom she has never seen, never known and probably never would, or so she thought, the music was played in the background, no one was playing it, it was just playing along in the background, hardly heard unless you listened closely, Millie was there also, standing..looking in the mirror, turning around so her back was facing it for a second before turning back around, when she looked in the mirror once again there was someone standing behind her, someone she didn't know, she quickly turned around to see whoever it was but all she saw was a shiny..sharp object heading her way, that dream..well nightmare, was soon over just like that.

The tune continued to played on, winding through the house and even out into the night. Yes, the stories about music where obviously true, even though very few ever really heard it and others did not believe the stories of those who had.
But as night turns into day, most things never last forever, and the melody faded sometime after midnight, falling silent. Though there was still a fire blazing when it did, they were only coals by the following morning, but still, there were coals where there should had been nothing but cold ashes. The house had also warmed up, the violin was gone from it's stand in her room and now sitting against the window in one of the other empty rooms that she had not entered previously.
After he finished playing, the being had returned it there, and now had disappeared from the normal vision once again. But after he had finished his little melody and put away the instrument, he passed through and out of the house, standing in an old garden out back, now over-run with weeds and wild flowers, waiting for dawn.
