Shay sat down in the chai he had been in before to wait, bow laid across his lap. He doomed her actions, and motioned with his head to the cup. "You need to drink it. It will help, even if it is cold."
He fell silent, it was clear he did not want to talk. He kept a keen eye on the door and the window, he was prepared and ready this time.
His gaze flicked back to her when she asked why. He didn't look as if he was going to answer, because he really didn't know himself. "You're human still," he said simply, no emotion to his tone or expression. She could take that two ways- he wouldn't let her die because she was too human, and he couldn't kill another person, or he wouldn't let her die because she wasn't a wolf yet and he was just keeping her so he could kill her later.
He looked away once more, knowing it wasn't the second. Of course it wasn't. he was soft hearted and weak, many other hunters would have killed her already and yet he just couldn't being himself to do it. Well, he friend on the other hand...
