Shay went with the group to the town hall sort of building to report their findings and killings. The wolves were hailed between the hunters, and none too nicely. He stood stony still and silent at the back as they reported, giving only a nod when needed. Shade stood dutifully at his side. They had been more protection and getting loose ends, not a tracker or a hunter on this mission.
He left with Shade to go home when they were dismissed, Shade lived next door after all. Shay lived with his sister, Ariel, who wasn't a hunter, more of a healer. He parted ways with Shade with a nod and a fond 'goodbye' before stepping inside, shaking off the water in his hair. His shirt clung to his muscled arms and chest and his pants too, were soaked half way up. Ariel was asleep on the floor infront of a painting, paint covering her arms and face. With a small little half smile he picked her up and set her on the couch, laying a blanket over her. As he turned away, she shifted slightly. "Thanks bro," she mumbled before starting to snore softly.
He nodded and grabbed his bow off his back, notching an arrow. He always checked the perimeters of the house before sleeping. Some would call him paranoid, some would call him smart- he called it safe. He opened the Hal door to their garden- Ariels really, stepping back out into the rain, bow half raised as he stealthily walked forward, checking along the fences and along the plants. He was just turning the corner as a flash if blue caught his eyes. Blue? The roses were red...
He immediatly was on edge, creeping forward once more, getting closer with each slow deliberate step, bow raised. He was suddenly tormented with the image of the girl he had let live...Something had seemed so familiar... He cursed under his breath as he tore his thoughts away. No. They weren't human. Maybe it had been a trick of the light...
