When the bell finally rang, John was relieved. He was so glad that he wouldn't have to endure the teachers droning on and on for, what seemed like forever. It made his so happy, that he quickly grabbed his green slime-ghost backpack out of his locker and started whistling as he sauntered down the hall. It had been a rough day and he was glad that it was finally over. But, wait; He just remembered! He had detention, where he was to meet Dave. Since there were to be no teachers around in detention, they were going to sneak into the teachers' lounge and have a "Detention Karaoke Party". And since it was scarce that kids got detention on the first day, they were the only two. As he opened the door to the detention room, he looked around. He had beaten Dave there, so he simply plopped down at one of the desks and tapped rhythmically on the wooden surface.

Dave quickly packed up his stuff into his sylladex and hurried to get to the detention room. Honestly, Jade falling asleep in the middle of sewing did freak him out a little, but once he made sure she hadn't stabbed herself in the face with the needle, he told the teacher she passed out and Bec appeared out of nowhere and took her home. The devilbeast even had a visitor's tag on his collar. As everyone was stunned, trying to figure what just happened, the bell had rang and Dave had walked out. He took a few turns in the halls and found his way to the detention room. When he walked in, Dave simply went over and sat by John's desk. "Hey there Egbert, ready to rock and roll?"

A buck-toothed smile crept onto John's face as he responded playfully," I'm ready when you are, Dave." He put his backpack on top of his desk and said," Now, we just have to wait for everyone to leave, so no one sees us..." Walking over to the window on the door, he saw that there were only a few people still getting their things together and leaving. It certainly wouldn't be long, now. He just about had the lyrics to his song memorized. No, he had them drilled into his memory, so they were stuck in his head.

{A few days ago, my mom went on the Karaoke Channel and told me to sing a song of her choice. When she chose "How Do I Live", my reaction was:...^w^..."This one's for you, Johnny-boy!" XD}

Although he'd never admit it, Dave had practiced his song everyday. Literally. Bro was even starting to get nervous. Dave set his bacckpack down by his seat and peered out the window from his spot. Dave looked over at John and then sighed, "Hey Egbert, you okay? You know, about today's show with the bullies who are obviously compensating for something" He pushed up his shades and leaned back n his seat. "I didn't thing the whole red-eye thing would pop up so fast."

When Dave asked John if he was okay, John didn't budge from his spot, but responded ," I'm fine, Dave...And, me neither. You actually look pretty cool, without the shades. But since the other kids where Sburb players, I'll bet they've seen weirder days..." He looked back over to the five rows of desks and then back at the window. "Everyone's leaving," Said he, a pang of excitement in his nerdy voice. "Not many people left in tha hallwayf, now...I'm pretty sure that no one'll see us if we sneak into the teacher's lounge.

Dave looked back up at John, not even realizing he had look down in the first place. "Thanks, man." Dave stood up and picked up his backpack, slinging it over one shoulder. "Get ready to hear the greatest voice since Nujabes." He smirked and started to head to the door, waiting for John. "I bet all the teachers are still getting their papers cleaned up anyways. First day may be the most busy day in school. Many will enter, few will survive."

John picked his backpack off of the desk and slipped his arms through both of the straps. He looked out the window and slowly opened the door. The hallways were now empty. "Yesss! Coast's clear!" He said in a whisper as he took one step into the hallway. It felt strange and awkward, how it was unusually quiet. "And I know where the teachers' lounge is..." He sauntered down the hallway, glad that everyone was gone. As he turned each corner, he made sure that no one was there before he kept walking. He slowly walked up to the door to the lounge and looked through the window. It was empty.

Dave quietly followed behind John, keeping a close eye on the halls as John lead the way. "Schools are weird afterhours. Anyways, John, can you play on any type of piano? Like an electric keyboard?" Dave had a new beat in mind, and was thinking that John could help him out. He was talking quietly, one of the subconscious things of a quiet place. As they turned the last corner and the door for the teacher's lounge appeared, Dave steeled himself for what would happen next. He was probably going to have to resort to an irony excuse for the song he would sing, and he played the lyrics in his head over and over.
